Jason Taylor is on the verge of dancing on over to the Washington Commanders.

FOXSports.com has learned that the Miami Dolphins have agreed to terms on a trade that would send the All-Pro defensive end and reality show star to the 'Skins in exchange for a second-round pick.
The teams were hopeful to have the deal finalized later Sunday night.

The move speaks volumes about the severity of the injury sustained by Commanders defensive end Phillip Daniels during the first day of Washington's training camp.

According to reports, Daniels injured his left anterior cruciate ligament during 7-on-7 drills Sunday and it was believed that the injury was season-ending.

Taylor started all 16 games for Miami during the Dolphins' woeful 2007 season. But even as the Dolphins went 1-15, Taylor still showed a glimmer of the ability that made him the 2006 Defensive Player of the Year, leading the team with 11 sacks.

they'll get what? 1-2 years out of him?

2nd round pick seems a lot even for a player like Taylor when you think about what they might be getting

Yeah... Snyder really "matured" and put his old ways behind him as the idiot Commanders fans have said.

Coughing up a 2nd rounder for one more year. It's Brandon Lloyd and TJ Duckett all over again.

good trade, 2nd is not to high. now if Taylor wants to play is a different story, but a 2nd round pick is not to bad... I would take Taylor over the TE we drafted in the 2nd round or almost every 2nd round pick that was in the draft this year...

What picks do they have left for next year. I sure like that Dallas has several extra picks for next year.

32 ****ing teams in this league and they just had to send him to the NFC East. Thanks, Tuna.

The trade is for a 2nd round pick in 09 and a 6th round pick in 10 according to Cerrato, I understand.

That would be true if Jason Taylor was a marginal player who have never done anything like both players you mentioned.

He didn't do us any favors. He didn't even extort a first round choice for him.

I wouldn't have given up a 2nd for him, but I guess it's an improvement for Danny. Surprised it wasn't a 2nd and 3rd.

yeah now we have to consider the Commanders as a legit playoff team;

jason taylor will really help them now in the pass rush

only thing i see holding the reskins back is their new head coach zorn, with no offensive coordinator experience, the 3rd time that their QB campbell has to play in a new offensive system, generally takes a year for that to produce

but now, Commanders are improved on defense with jason taylor, as we all know the Commanders really didnt have to real pass rusher terror, now they do

he will not retire, he will play another 4 season now, how do I know this, because Snyder will offer Taylor an extension he can't refuse.

I agree. Taylor is a damn good football player, and I'm definitely NOT looking forward to him being on the Commanders next year.

But they are going to suck anyhow next year. And then at the end of the year, Taylor will retire. And the Commanders will be out 2 draft picks.

The only reason this made sense for the Commanders was if they wanted to win this year. But I guess they didn't realize their QB is awful and their coach is in over his head.

Why make a 1 season win now move and give away 2 picks, one being a primo pick?

That doesn't bother me at all. Big Flo handled him just fine last year.

Uh.....

Is Jason Taylor going to play QB and be head coach?

No? Then the Commanders two biggest problems are still there.

They will be last in the NFC still.

some people value 2nd round picks to much, they are good to have, but I would trade a 2nd round pick for a 30 year old DE one year removed from DPOY anyday. I bet if Balt came to Dallas and offer Ray lewis for a 2nd rounder I bet JJ would jump on that trade, as to every team in the NFL..

Point is that Taylor is a great player and for a 2nd that is not much.....especially when u have a first and can trade down in get that 2nd back....

he's still a reactionary *****

if he tried earlier to acquire JT, the smart thing to do since everyone knows that Phillip Daniels can't rush the passer, they probably could have gotten him for less
