some people value 2nd round picks to much, they are good to have, but I would trade a 2nd round pick for a 30 year old DE one year removed from DPOY anyday. .

He isn't 30, Quincy.

He will be 34 in one month.

Let's put it this way:

Would you give up a 2nd round pick next year and a 6th round pick in 2010 for Greg Ellis?

Greg Ellis had more sacks in 3 less games last year. And Greg Ellis is one year younger then Jason Taylor. He also has 1 less year of wear and tear on his body.

So would you give that up for Ellis right now? I wouldn't.

he's still a reactionary *****

if he tried earlier to acquire JT, the smart thing to do since everyone knows that Phillip Daniels can't rush the passer, they probably could have gotten him for less

How do we know he didn't? I read that he tried during the draft but got scared off by the price.

Reactionary? Well, he learned lost his starter and has replaced him with a better player before his head hits the pillow that same night. That's not bad at all.

mansta54, im not so sure, i was hoping now with all the additions that the cowboys had made, that the cowboys could beat the Commanders easily

now, what i worry about, remember now, charles haley had trouble with the 49ers, the year before the cowboys traded for him, then when the cowboys did trade for haley he took the cowboys to the superbowl;

granted the head coach zorn has never been a offensive coordinator or asst head coach, so he has a big job to learn, but remember the Commanders were on the edge of the playoffs last year, now with a dominant pass rusher like jason taylor, boom, that could propel them deep into the playoffs, i hope i am wrong, i wanted to beat the Commanders badly this year, in fact twice this year;

now only time will tell;

Ellis isn't a fair comparison to Taylor. Taylor was the Dolphins only true pass rushing threat and I am factoring in Joey Porter. Take Demarcus Ware away from Greg Ellis and you have an inferior player than Jason Taylor.

you think Miami was offering the same thing now that they offered when Washington wasn't desperate for DE help during the draft?

Boy Parcells really held out on that trade. I lost alot of respect for Parcells and Taylor today. I hope Taylor keeps his eye on the prize this year, that being a trophy for dancing or singing or maybe even an emmy. He always has football to fall back on.

No kidding. Had Jerry moved as quickly after a camp injury, we'd be throwing rose petals at his feet and saying "to hell with the cost."

Please drop the Greg Ellis comparison.

It doesn't work.

Jason Taylor is on the verge of dancing on over to the Washington Commanders.

FOXSports.com has learned that the Miami Dolphins have agreed to terms on a trade that would send the All-Pro defensive end and reality show star to the 'Skins in exchange for a second-round pick.
The teams were hopeful to have the deal finalized later Sunday night.

The move speaks volumes about the severity of the injury sustained by Commanders defensive end Phillip Daniels during the first day of Washington's training camp.

According to reports, Daniels injured his left anterior cruciate ligament during 7-on-7 drills Sunday and it was believed that the injury was season-ending.

Taylor started all 16 games for Miami during the Dolphins' woeful 2007 season. But even as the Dolphins went 1-15, Taylor still showed a glimmer of the ability that made him the 2006 Defensive Player of the Year, leading the team with 11 sacks.

great pick up for us....anyone that thinks it isn't,is either a cowboy fan or a idiot..which one are you?

When you are on the eve of a draft, you are more apt to hold onto your choices because you need them to deal, plus you don't know when a player could fall to you.

Rumor stated that they asked for a first for Taylor in April. If that's true, the Commanders actually got a fair deal now that camp is approaching and Taylor was going to become more of a distraction.

we have a lot more depth then the skins plus we're a lot younger overall. Other then Flozell Zach and TO we're a pretty young and deep team, the skins are not. I don't see how an aging middle of the pack team can throw draft picks around like this even for players like Taylor.

we're conteders this year, if we lost let's say Ware and Jerry did this it would be a lot different

yeah, i lost alot of respect too for parcells, jacksonville offered a draft pick for jason taylor a 2nd rounder and so did a few other teams, but parcells was holding out for more draft picks preferably a number 1 pick;

now we have to face jason taylor with the Commanders twice this year, thanks a lot parcells

now i hope without jason taylor to pass rush, i hope teams hammer the dolphins really bad, and let parcells have it

If Owens got hurt tomorrow, people would be applauding if Mister Jones pulled off a trade for Roy Williams or Anquan Boldin within 24 hours.

For that matter, if Ware blew out a knee, getting Taylor for a second would be viewed as a heist.

But since it is Snyder, it is :lmao2: . Amazing.
