Next stop will be a new high definition radio station.

The Ticket broadcasts in HD already. I don't really know much about HD radio though. If it's anything like HDTV, the signal is all or nothing. You either get a perfectly clear picture or absolutely nothing. Plus, I really don't know much about the quality of HD radio.

To sum it up, I don't really know anything and I don't know why I even posted this message. :)

I have felt that way for about 5000 posts now.

I wish Dallas played them now, it would have been a stat padder.

Looks like that pick the Skins have in the first round, (one of the few they have) will be a pretty high pick.

I wouldn't mind seeing them win a few meaningless games down the stretch because there are going to be some super blue chip players at the top of next year's draft.

Good point. How bout that Dec30th game in Washington against the Giants?;)

Washington seems to be playing the role of the 2005 Philadelphia Eagles, a team we needed to win the important divisional games and came up woefully short every time :banghead:

Actually, they could have helped us by beating the Commanders during the last week of the season. McMahon was playing a solid game at QB, and fat bastid pulled him about midway through the 4th. The Eagles would have won that game if McMahon kept playing. The look on McMahon's face when he got pulled told me that the Eagles were tanking the game to keep us out of the playoffs and secure better draft position for themselves.

We will never get any help from any NFC East team, even if THEIR playoff hopes are dashed. The other teams in our division would help each other out, but will never help out the Cowboys.

with CP out tis will give the SKins fans a built in excuse as to why Jason Campbell looks like Quincy Hutchinson... that excuse will be followed by the rash of injuries to a team that "Won a road playoff game" in the 05 season!!!

CP is on the verge of a Holdout!!! His agent will demand more money because of the teams failures in 06 can be directly linked to his injuries!!!

Portis is about to get paid!!! AGAIN!!!

I traded Portis in the preseason for Terrell Owens.

People lauughed at me then, giving up a top back for a guy who has missed almost half of his regular season games the past 2 seasons combined....

Looks like I won with the trade after all.....

I was under the assumption that the Ticket "broadcasting in HD" was a joke. I was thinking that every TV station says they're broadcasting in HD now, so they were poking fun.

I've never heard of HD Radio... maybe I'm just behind the times as far as that is concerned. I've heard of satellite radio, but HD??

Does "High Definition" Radio even make sense? What is more defined? Instead of your normal radio waves, do you get double or triple the waves?? :laugh2:

I'm just thinking out loud here.

It's stupid to think Campbell will come in and look like a pro-bowler. He is a rookie starter, and in his 1st year in this system. I wouldn't be surprised if he threw 3 ints this weekend. It's going to happen, hes going to make the rookie mistakes, and this is something we will have to be ready to deal with.

I just hope that skins nation doesnt freak out when he has a bad game this weekend.

You do know that the only reason gibbs made the switch is so that it will hurt the cowboys, right? :p:

But anyways, I have faith in betts and duckett to run successfully. Although portis is our best player, he was by no means lighting it up this year. Whether that has to do with our line, or his injuries, or both, I think that our new combo should be able to run decently.

Betts has been running well all season, and duckett, well, has like 2 carries for 12 yyards on the year :laugh2: so we'll see

Well, I think that there is incentive for Gibbs to make the switch now to see what he has in Campbell. I'm actually surprised that he didn't make the switch sooner. Brady Quinn is out there next year, and it wouldn't surprise me to see the Commanders make a move for him (by packaging the draft picks they have to move up for him, if needed) if Campbell doesn't finish the year strong. The Raiders are the most likely suitor for Quinn, and I'm not sure how Al Davis would feel about trading away his shot at Quinn with the Commanders. The Raiders will pick before the Commanders on draft position, as the Commanders will surely wind up with the better record by year end. Rumor has it that Al Davis doesn't really like Dan Snyder.

Me personally, I watched Campbell play during his time at Auburn. He gave my LSU Tigers fits. Granted he didn't look like a first day pick until his last year, I can't understand why everyone is so down on him. I think he has some tools to work with, and more mobility than many other QBs. I will be pulling for him to upset the Giants and Eagles...so long as it isn't on the way to a run to 10-6 and a playoff berth for the Skins.

;)

I think the Skins will win, the Bucs are a bad team (with injuries) and their QB isn't up to much. If getting a new QB fires up the Skins at all then the D should play up to thier potential.

I would feel kinda stupid if that was actually the case. Ha. Funny though if so.

Anyways, http://www.hdradio.com is a site that actually explains it.

With satellite radio this seems more like a step behind than a step forward.

I still get all of the commercials when I listen to regular radio and I still dont have nearly the variety.

Sirius gives me commercial-free music, and by far better sports programming than anything else.

Sorry if this is a repost

CBS Sportsline:
According to published reports, RB Clinton Portis (hand, shoulder) will have surgery on his left shoulder and is out for the remainder of the season. The team plans to place him on injured reserve.
(Updated 11/15/2006)

Analysis: The original plan was for Portis to miss three to four weeks, but the club decided it was too much of a gamble for him to return this season. Ladell Betts will take over as the starting running back for the Commanders.

Rotoworld:
ESPN.com is the latest outlet to confirm Clinton Portis' season is over. They also report that Portis will undergo shoulder surgery at the end of the week.
(Updated 11/14/2006)

Analysis: Len Pasquarelli cites three league sources. If Portis wanted to return in a month, he likely would have delayed his shoulder surgery until after the season. This way, he'll be fully healthy in time for the team's off-season program.
