good for them

ZONERS!!!!

I hate thread titles that start with that.

Oh, and the Commanders are winning the off season again. Whatta suprise.

Can be critical of the Hall & Haynesworth signings for sure, but if this deal comes out to be true it will be an absolute steal for the Skins. As a Skins fan, this deal makes me very happy if it comes to fruition.

Derrick Dockery-G-Commanders Feb. 27 - 9:18 pm et

Commanders signed G Derrick Dockery to a five-year, $26 million contract. $8.5 million is guaranteed.
Dockery, who was drafted by the Commanders in 2003, bounced back quickly after getting cut by the Bills Thursday. This is great money and a sensible fit for an old Commanders line, but we can't help but notice that the guard market was depressed compared to year's past. Dockery, Brandon Moore, and Chris Kemoeatu signed relatively reasonable deals.

Those laid off employees must be seething.

I'm not concerned about any of these deals. Now, if they go get a real QB, I'll start to worry. If you look at the last 10-12 years, the skins' best years have come when they have been quiet in free agency. Expectations will be very high again and I suspect they will fall short again.

If only Jerry knew how to make cap room like Dan Snyder...............

why, this is a terrible way to do business and build a football team.

teams who dont draft or plan well are the teams that are forced to use free agency every year.

We are finally at the point where we fill our holes with the draft and keep our own guys again.

Going into free agency is a sign of a confused or desperate team.

Be very happy we are not taking part in the nonsense washington is. I hope we dont sign anyone for a month.

I can only hope that all these signings will equate to another season when they signed Bruce Smith and Deion Sanders... as well as... make people forget how Dallas blew last season with the expectations.

Dan Snyder seemed to have a plan this off-season, and they actually haven't throw away their draft picks.

Washington is 'gambling' once again.

This time that the salary cap is a thing of the past.

Bruce and Deion were a hundred years old.

These guys aren't.

Haynesworth is a good player, but Dockery is at best an average player and Hall is a highlight film for opposing WR's...there's not a starting CB in the league thats given up as many big plays and tds as he has the past 3 or 4 yrs

I wouldn't necessarily go that far into saying confused or desperate... but there are definite benefits of having the ability (ala New England) to build a team right through the draft.

With Roy possibly leaving, I would hope that Dallas would look at trying to pick up at least one safety in FA just in case the rooks can't handle it. At least resign KDavis. And of course, picking up a vet qb as well that isn't named Brad Johnson or the likes. I personally like Leftwhich, Boller (worried about his injury... rotator cuff and a qb... not good), Losman, Huard (old though)...

Let's see what GM Jerry does this time. I am sure he might want to make one splash with Snyder taking all the spotlight.

Maybe so... that will be good since their offense won't be on the field too much and the defense will need some serious stamina.
