Dockery was a joke. Got to see him first hand on a regular basis. That dude wore a ski mask to collect his game check. At the same time though, the Bills were dumb enough to pay that kind of money to him so they deserved what they got out of him.

At least they are doing something that seems like it is improving there team and not sitting on there hands and checkbook thinking that because of injuries we didnt make it last year.

I would rather sit on my hands than give out dumb arse contracts, like $100 mill to a DT, like $31 mill guaranteed to one of the most toasted CBs in the entire NFL, or give $25 mill to an above-average G that was recently released.

What amazes me is how the same posters that critize Jerry for giving out extensions saying "this guy isnt worth the money or that guy isnt worth the money" then turn right around and moan and groan that Jerry is just sitting on his checkbook and not making an attempt to improve the team.

Very comical.

I'm not sure what happened in Buffalo, but when he was with the Commanders he was a slightly below average pass blocker and great run blocker. I'm happy to have him back.

They are doing well I must say....can't argue with any signing and if 2010 is uncapped they are geniuses because they can write off so much of Albert and Hall's money and then in 2011 when there is a cap it will be normal 8mil per year which will be cheaper than any studs out there will be getting.

That would be a very good strategy if not for the 30% rule. Thats states that compensation for a player cannot be outside of a 30% bracket.

Meaning, that you cant pay a player $1 million in 2009 with a cap, then pay that player $10 million in 2010 with no cap, and then go back to $1 million in 2011 if cap is reinstated.

The league thought of that loophole and that is why the 30% rule was made, to prevent teams from manipulating the cap year like you are describing.

And jerry jones gave 30M guaranteed to a QB who makes it rain with turnovers. I remember this place after you guys got destroyed by the eagles, with quite a few of the posters here calling for romo's head.

Quite a few people are running out of patience with campbell, which is the reason why he's in the last year of his deal and not getting a new one until he proves he's worth it. I've lost faith in campbell, but apparently management is willing to give him one last season. I'd rather we just traded him and got whatever we could from him and move on.

Romo has to improve, but at least he has shown he is more then capable of making all the throws and being a play maker. Campbell is a bus driver who will never be able to put up the kind of numbers Romo has.

Romo was still 22-10 in his first 2 seasons as our starter. Some people may of been calling for his head, but if they were it was out of frustration over the results and expectations of the season. That or they were just you typical cluless fan that every team has. How many times have you guys blown up the extremeskins message board after a game?

These guys aren't.

I guess we won't be hearing a reprise of the mantra of you Skins fans last offseason-- "it's good that Snyder isn't spending wildly, it shows he's learned"...

I mean, it sure doesn't look like Danny Boy learned much from his past mistakes, not based on the first 27 hours of free agency... :D

They do it by having zero quality depth. It looks like a shiny new toy at the beginning of the season, but implodes as startes go down.

Yeah, and he only ranks 9th all time in single season TDs with 36. Why, that's 1 more than Jason Campbell has in his entire career. Weird.

Seems fair, when you consider that he's averaged over 2 TD passes a game, and the Boys have averaged almost 28 points per game when he played more than a cameo role (there was one game he got into a coupla seasons ago when he only threw two passes)...

For comparison, while it's quite true that Campbell doesn't throw many ints, he also doesn't throw many TD passes (36 career games, 35 career TD passes, or less than 1 a game)... and the Skins averaged 16.9 points per game in those 36 games...

Gimme the QB who throws 20 ints in a season, so long as he also throws 40 TD passes, over the guy who throws 10 picks, but only throws 15 TD passes...

He also makes it rain with TD passes, unlike your project of a QB.

Yeah... I wouldn't doubt them trying to get one of the WRs available that are listed over 6' tall.

Well, they've got Malcolm Kelly and Devin Thomas.

You can stop laughing.

Anyway, the problem with their offense is begins and ends with Jason Campbell. Unless the running game is going for 150+ yards a game, he usually struggles.

Dan Snyder, is a businessman and one of the best in the world. He takes a team that finishes mediocre at best and dreadful at other times and still turns a huge profit in the process. He clearly knows how to run a successful BUSINESS but not a successful FOOTBALL TEAM. With all the big money moves he's made over the years, you would think the Commanders would have a top5 payroll.......

BUT in 2008, the Raiders had the highest payroll and one of the worst records, the Cowboys finished a distant second and again, no playoff berth, other teams included in the list were:

Saints; Vikings; and Browns

None of them with records to justify the payroll in any sane persons opinion. This is whats so baffling about Dan Snyder, he spends the money, but where does it show up (in a dufflebag in the trunk of the players car)? Upon further research, I've found that within the NFC East over the last 3 seasons our payrolls were as follows: expressed in millions-

Dallas-146-107-113= $366mill

Wash.-112-127-110=$349mill

Phi.-109-100-104=$313mill

NY. -115-75-108=$298mill

Based on these numbers, we see that there is no corelation between hi payrolls and winning records, the Giants have averaged the lowest of the division yet they have the most recent Superbowl win, followed closely by Philly who has been the perrenial division winner every year barring the last 2 seasons of course.

So, while making mega deals may not be the way to build a successful TEAM, it has turned the Commanders into a successful BUSINESS. ( I will post some info on top earning teams at a later date). In the end, it's the fans who suffer!

Haynesworth is a good player, but Dockery is at best an average player and Hall is a highlight film for opposing WR's...there's not a starting CB in the league thats given up as many big plays and tds as he has the past 3 or 4 yrs

How dare you come in here and talk sense David.

Dockery isn't even an average guard. He was horrible in Buffalo.

Good post, but I have a bone to pick with this snyder and jones are successfull business people...

They are, but dont use their football time to showcase.

The Commanders and cowboys have fans that are extremely passionate and all over the world. THey will eat up anything there team offers them, tickets, parking, jerseys, shirts, pants, bikini's., urinals, lockers, dog collars, tv programming, etc etc ..

That is why snyder and jerry have changed the nfl. They have played on that passion and turned it into a giant marketing campaign. They charge exobranant prices for everything and everything is for sale.

It is like what gene simmons does with kiss, you know there is a huge market of people that will just keep buying, so you just keep giving them merchandise no matter how dumb, that is why guys sitting in a kiss t-shirt, listening to kiss cd will go on the internet and order a kiss coffin using a kiss credit card.

Its the same way for the cowboys and Commanders. Just make it or make it available to buy and it will be bought. That is why they sell 9 dollar tubs of popcorn at texas stadium etc...

and its no coincidence neither man has done anything worth a darn in over a decade but buy shiny new players and sell shiny new toys to the same fans.

ok rant over.

Horrible is only a term for Cowboys players by CZ people.
