From another board, props to ChoppinBroccoli
I was listening to Sirius NFL Channel today, and a Commanders fan (who lives in Dallas) called in to pimp his team. When he asked Pat Kirwan why nobody seems to mention the Commanders when talking about the best teams in the NFC, Kirwan invited him to compare his team, position-by-position, with the other teams in the NFC East.
Quite predictably, the 'Skins fan claimed that the Commanders had the best player in the NFC East at every position, which brought many groans from the hosts of the show. He said the Commanders had the best pair of OTs in the East, the best set of Guards, and therefore the best O-Line in all of the NFC East. He said the Commanders had the second-best WR corps in the East (behind Dallas). He then said that he'd rather have Cooley at TE than either Witten or Shockey, which lost him all credibility with the hosts (they finally told him straight-up that there was no question that Witten was the best TE in the East). Among other laughable statements this idiot made was that the Commanders "just murdered the Cowboys two times last year," (the hosts set him straight that the first game was a "rabbit out of a hat").
They then got into a discussion of defense (where 'Skins Boy claimed that Adam Archuleta made their pass coverage better than last year--again set straight by the hosts, who informed this homer that Archuleta is nothing special in coverage), when the 'Skins fans made the statement that, "Sean Taylor is the next Ronnie Lott." The hosts about lost their minds on that one, and Pat Kirwan chimed in with the clincher. He said, "Wanna know who Ronnie Lott thinks is the next Ronnie Lott? And e know because we asked him. On our show Ronnie Lott told us that the next Ronnie Lott is Roy Williams." That sent the 'Skins fan sputtering about how he only said that because he hasn't watched Sean Taylor, and that he'll be saying Sean Taylor is the next Ronnie Lott by next year.
Another Commanders fan pwned.
