Exactly. I don't think the fact we swept Philly in 2005 means squat about 2006.

If you ask that same question here on this board what do you think the answer would be? the exact same thing.

if you love your team, you are obviously going to hope, wish and expect for a super bowl. After your team comes off a great run(in which the skins had last year), the spirits of fans are going to be high, and there are going to be high expectations. Even if you dont come off a spectacular year, fans still expect thier team to bounce back and go to the super bowl, like here.

Its natrual for just about any fan base.

Actually there were an article or two posted this past week where some "experts or journalists" picked the cowboys to go to the superbowl.

There was a fair share of cowboys fans that did not think it happened and FAR from a bunch saying it was automatic.

Every fan base has it's superhomers however we here also have some realists or anti-homers.

But if you think that is wrong just post a thread asking if we as cowboys fans think it is a lock we are going all the way this year. You may be surprised by the answers.

From my limited time, long ago, on ES, we here are FAR from being the homers many on that site seem to be.

But really, i dont think there are such thing as overpaying. if you think a certain player of object is worth as much to you, well you pay the amount.

And that is why they have cap limits in the nfl. If the cap is set at 100mil then why not use all the 100 mil if the owner can afford it. Truth is the 'skins used the whole 100 mil and still is under the cap. why is it overpaid?

obviously, with that many more members, there are going to be more random people coming in and spouting out non-sense like that that here. Most of the people that post on here are people that post on a regular basis, and circulate the same thoughts. While at ES, a lot of new people come along and just start stupid threads to try and get a rise out of people...

Actually, hon, you'll find that the people here are realistic--unlike the folks at Extremeskins. NOONE here is talking Super Bowl. What we're talking is playoffs, & getting past round one, as a realistic expectation for this year. (Some aren't even going that far--I remember seeing predictions of 9-7 again earlier this year.) We also didn't buy into Burger King's comments--nice as they are. If you listened to TO, even he isn't saying Super Bowl, he's saying playoffs.

We're excited about a lot of our new additions, but are realistic about a problematic O-line & a statue QB. You'd think skins fans would be a bit realistic about THEIR QB situation, given that Brunell is already nursing a broken finger. He's a major key to your season--you really think he's going to stay healthy all season? Just cause Little Napoleon is throwing big dough at Saunders doesn't mean the offense is going to play well or that Brunell will stay healthy. The NFC East is going to be a very tough division--frankly, I don't think any team will sweep any other team.

What we're very excited about is the future for this team. There are a lot of young players on the team now who either are or will be solid players & maybe even studs. Can the skins say that? Nope. Gibbs better hope he wins the Super Bowl this year, so he can skedaddle out of town before reality sets in. He's mortgaged the team's future--virtually no drafted talent, traded away draft picks for future years, expensive aging FAs. We'll see, but no team yet has ever won by going heavily with FAs.

For sure -- however, that doesn't mean we can't be spanked again in 2006. But you'd be surprised at how fans,in many franchises, believe that the previous year standings always dictates the new year outcomes.

That said, the Eagles are just as hungry to beat the Cowboys ...as the Cowboys are to beat the Commanders.

Umm, there was a post last week (or so) on Extremeskins to the effect of "what do you expect from the Skins this year." It went on for page after page after page, & virtually every post said Super Bowl.

But I'll agree with you that the skins going to the Super Bowl is nonsense!! :laugh1:

LOL ES may have 50,000 members registered. But I bet they only have 1/5 of that number who actually post and probably even a smaller amount that post on a regular basis.

Hey the most users online for that site and this site happened on 04/29/2006 ES had 1668 we had 1029. So even though they have 55+k registered members it is plain to see that the most they ever had online is just 600-700 more people than we did and we have no where near as many "registered" members.

Just something to think about.:laugh1:

Eitherway the initial premise was that we would have the same near total agreement that the cowboys are going to the superbowl like ES and I contend we would not and so far HAVE NOT with recent articles on the subject.

Sometimes it is just to admit to being wrong and move on.
