Compare Your Confidence Level To Previous Playoff Seasons

Over the last decade we have seen this team make the playoffs 3 times. And then now. 2006, 2007 and 2009. What is your confidence level headed into these playoffs compared to those years? For me, I think it's the highest.

2006, we kind of fell off at the end, starting with that Saints butt kicking on SNF. Then losing to the Lions and Eagles the last 2 games of the year to where we didn't even win the East with that seemingly in our pocket. I expected nothing in that playoffs.

2007, yes were 13-3 but we had injuries. Glenn was not even close to healthy, Owens was hobbling. We lost 2 of 3 and just didn't seem to be headed in the right direction. I did not have a good feeling about that Giants game at all.

2009 would be the time I was really confident we would beat the Eagles. We ended the season with 3 straight wins, one being the 13-0 Saints on the road. Blew out the Eagles to win the East. But realistically, we were a flawed team. No real running game and a weak OL. Most realistic fans knew one playoff win was our ceiling. We were miles away from the Vikings. And it showed.

But this year is different. Won 6 of our last 7 and this December was one for the ages. There is not one team in the entire field who is head and shoulders above us.

I am very confident headed into this Lions game and can't wait!

My confidence level is extremely high, I don't see how teams can contain our offense. If our defense can just get us some 3 and outs I have confidence that our offense can capitalize with TDs.

I'm not even asking for 3 and outs. A few would be nice but just don't give up the huge back breaking drive that eats up a ton of time and ends in a TD. Those are killer.

We are in good shape if the offense controls the game like it has the past month.

You know the Lions will do just that with Bush and Johnson. It's going to happen however I expect our offense to exchange fire with fire. The determinant factor will come in the second half when we make adjustments, I have faith that the defense will slow the Lions offense down giving our offense an opportunity to win the game.

The OL is the reason we got eliminated in our last two playoff runs.

NYG destroyed our interior line IIRC. I think they were exploiting our guards with Justin Tuck.

Minnesota absolutely annihilated our O-line. My memory might be off, but I remember Doug Free having the worst game of his life. Ray Edwards looked like the 2nd coming of Lawrence Taylor.

Just give Tony a chance is all I ask. I feel confident that if we lose, it won't be because of the OL this time around.

We are peaking at the right time. I was worried we might have peaked during that 6-1 stretch but this team has been on fire for the last month.

It wasn't Doug Free it was an injured Colombo that had a terrible game and who was matched up with Ray Edwards.

The Cowboys defense seems to be playing better as the season progresses. They are middlin' in talent but very opportunistic. The offense is a Cadillac. The special teams are solid with a decent punter and a deadly kicker. With a few exceptions, coaching has been head and shoulders above anything since the glory years.

I love their chances this year and expect the 'Boys to at least reach the NFC championship game.

I was leery of the Giants in 2007. Pretty high in 2009 and shocked how it turned out.

I'm slightly higher than 2009 right about now, but it's hard to get cocky. It just takes one or two bad plays against a good team to get toppled in the playoffs, and that can happen to anybody.

It's getting harder as a fan to take one game at a time, and I imagine that same impulse affects the players when they're playing as well as they are right now.

I honestly thought the Cowboys were a legitimate threat to win it all in 2009, and I'm a pessimistic fan. If you told me the Cowboys-Vikings game had ended 34-3, I really would have guessed Dallas was the winner.

I felt better about the team in 07 to be honest but on the flip side I think our NFC rivals aren't as tough as they were that season.

I am more confident going into this year. But could be just being this year, fresher in the mind.
But mostly because our offense is all around so much better. romo does not have to do this alone, like back then the team relied on him much more.

Defense wise, maybe not as much talent, but can't recall, but playing at a high level and peaking at the right time. Nice to see a pass rush emerging.

Almost 4:00 am, woke up, can't get back to sleep yet, so brain a bit foggy. At least it's not from drinking....lol

In the Minnesota game, Dallas lost Flozell Adams early in the game and Ray Edwards abused Columbo at Right Tackle. I think they had sacks on each of the first 3 drives and battered Romo all day.
We didn't keep Witten in much to help and the game plan on offense completely fell apart with all the pressure. Terrible luck losing Flozell, but im not sure theyd have won anyway.

I think the defenses in 2007 and 2009 were better than this years group, but the 2014 offense is clicking. I don't see this line getting handled like they did in the 2nd round (if they make it there) like they did 2007 or 2009.

I'm very confident we beat the Lions & Packers.. I'm matching my confidence level with Dez & Murray's..Nobody on the 07 & 09 team are as hungry as them.. Not even TO!! Romo sold his soul & is not the same droopy Mr.Smiles after a INT or badpass...He is clearly playing like a leader with a taste for blood..

We can probably just start to decipher the writing on the wall Detroit, GB, and Seattle seems like a path we are equipped to take and do well either on the road or at home. Hope Rolando and Brent are all rested and ready to battle. If I was Golden Tate I might have my head on a swivel, enjoy the attention.

No, Free started for Columbo because of injury & played well. Then the big question was "will they go back to Columbo against Minnesota?" They did & Columbo got killed that game.
