Compare Your Confidence Level To Previous Playoff Seasons

Over the last decade we have seen this team make the playoffs 3 times. And then now. 2006, 2007 and 2009. What is your confidence level headed into these playoffs compared to those years? For me, I think it's the highest.

2006, we kind of fell off at the end, starting with that Saints butt kicking on SNF. Then losing to the Lions and Eagles the last 2 games of the year to where we didn't even win the East with that seemingly in our pocket. I expected nothing in that playoffs.

2007, yes were 13-3 but we had injuries. Glenn was not even close to healthy, Owens was hobbling. We lost 2 of 3 and just didn't seem to be headed in the right direction. I did not have a good feeling about that Giants game at all.

2009 would be the time I was really confident we would beat the Eagles. We ended the season with 3 straight wins, one being the 13-0 Saints on the road. Blew out the Eagles to win the East. But realistically, we were a flawed team. No real running game and a weak OL. Most realistic fans knew one playoff win was our ceiling. We were miles away from the Vikings. And it showed.

But this year is different. Won 6 of our last 7 and this December was one for the ages. There is not one team in the entire field who is head and shoulders above us.

I am very confident headed into this Lions game and can't wait!

I agree about 06, but not about 07 and 09. The last two playoff seasons, I had high expectations. The 07 team was the best we had seen since the Super Bowl teams of the 90s up until this year's team. In 09, finally beating the Eagles and winning a playoff game after 13 years was huge. But it was tough to ask this team to win in Minn vs. the Brett Favre Vikings. Nevertheless, considering how they finished the regular season in 09, I thought they should have done better.

I remember being super annoyed by all the people blaming Romo for the loss, but I for the life of me couldn't understand why Crayton quit on his route in the end zone of that play....could have been the difference. That and his drop on a (third?) down earlier

the throw to crayton in the endzone was stupid as hell...that was just ignorant.

the dropped pass by crayton earlier in the game was all on crayton..

he just might have housed it.

a memory i like to forget.

i thought for sure we were going to the dance that year.

My confidence is about 10% shy 1992-1995 cowboys teams confidence. Romo and defense keep me from 100%.

If we are smart, we can't lose!

Who do you replace Romo with...he finished number one in passer rating. The defense, yeah, that is a worry, but if they continue to generate turnovers at their current rate, then this team will be a very dangerous animal.

Ah? Where should Romo have thrown it?

Crayton didn't quit on that 2007 route. He got to the top of the route and the DB jumped it, and he looked back to see what Romo was doing and that caused him to pause and threw the timing off with Tony.

He did drop the 3rd down pass earlier in the game, and he muffed a coverage in the kicking game. Not a good game for PC, overall. Especially given how he flapped his gums going into it.

My confidence level is this, if we lose I feel we have found an identity that can be sustained and will be successful from here on. I feel like we are the hunters not the hunted like in past seasons, what we lack in talent on defense we make it up with hustle and heart. We finally have some "dawgs" on defense and that the D's personality. In other words, win or lose, I like where this team is headed.

But I'm talking about heading into the postseason. I had more confidence going into 09 than 07. Nothing about which team was necessarily better. The 09 team won 3 in a row, one being on the road in NO. We were on a roll. The 07 team was injured on offense and lost 2 of 3. Barely played the starters in the Skins game in the finale. Then with a bye. This team had no momentum at all. Giants had tons of momentum and came and hit us in the mouth.

And I didn't expect more than what happened in 09 playoffs. I knew it was not realistic to expect us to go into Minnesota and win. Not with our weak offensive line and their stout DL. They slapped us around all game long. Went about as I expected.
