Giants already re-signed Slayton and signed Campbell and Jeff Smith. Can’t see them in on OBJ anymore.
Yea, I think they've moved on.......

He's still sitting by the phone waiting for a team to call. The fact eight/nine teams showed up for his workout confirms there is a strong interest out there but not at what he wants.

Not excited at all about either one. Wish they would have tried to land someone that puts up consistently good not great numbers that doesn't have a lot of baggage instead of trying to hit a home run. The Raiders probably had the inside track on Meyers due to the HC but we probably could have offered him a little more to see if he was interested.

Jakobi Meyers 3 years $33 million

2020 59/729
2021 83/866
2022 67/804

Throw out the stats on who is better or not, it comes down to the cost, the cost of not only their salaries, but it Hopkins case, what kind of draft capital will it take to land him, this is why OBJ is the preferred choice. No cost to sign him and have the control of how they want his contract.
Just the Cards will take a 2nd for Hop but it doesn't to us. It appears Jerry has no interest in Hop and even if he did, they are only willing to trade a 5th.

that's my point and? Gallup will better than last year, cds our #1...

. we do not need to make a trade for an 18mil WR requiring a #2 draft pick when we got rid of one that made 22mil for 5th so the fact is we don't need a 1A that bad to do that , you simply use that #2 in the draft go get complementary WR..Our mistake was not letting go of AC, it was counting on Gallup to recover quicker, so maybe not keeping Ced or adding a #2 to get by last year smoother that was the misstep, so reaplacing cooper is still not the goal.. we did that with CEEDEE arrival proving he can be 1 without a lot of converge being drawn away. Career year proves that,

read slower , comprehend better. OBJ makes sense at a structured team friendly deal like 10mil with escalators for play time and reaching certain production for it to climb to higher rate.

If not,

ill take Jarvis, chark, or similar..i mean KC did it last year with JUJU and bunch of cast offs we are already better with Lamb and Gallup with an addition of tier 2 wr not a starter,
Me read slower? Haha….the front office has told you they want to add more juice to the receiver position publicly. They’ve said they want to add a playmaker and they’ve said it’s fair to criticize them for not handling the position correctly. Open those ears and listen to what the OWNERS are telling you and then I’ll read slower pops.

Secondly, you have no idea that Gallup will be better- we hope he will be. We hope he’ll back to his normal self but there’s no guarantee he will be. It’s all hope. This is the same staff that told us he’d return and be ready to play this year- he wasn’t so how can you blindly place such faith in them? Cooper wasn’t let go for production reasons he was let go for other stuff and considering the front office actively pursued Brandin cooks who makes high teens and close to 20m - they seem to be fine paying a receiver around that mark especially with a rising cap.

The front office used the term “juice” and playmaker and they are actively pursuing Odell Beckham jr- a lesser player whose more injury prone and more of a headache and he makes more sense with escalators? A guy who has for years complained about getting touches and fed the ball? So the answer is to pay him based on his performance? How does that make sense in a year we want to be distraction free? It makes sense to add a guy who 3 months ago who got kicked off a plane and was a huge story How?

Lastly, this isn’t about ceedee - ceedee proved himself this season. it’s about giving ceedee his high level number 2 just like ceedee was a high level number 2 for amari the year before which is exactly what Hopkins would be. He would make it so you could never double ceedee and if you tried he’d make you pay.

Why is Hopkins worth a premium pick given his contract?

Wasn’t that the reason Cooper could only fetch a 5th?

Why is it different for Hopkins, who is actually two years older than Cooper?

Cowboys Fans: We need Speed and good Route Runners for this offense!

Also Cowboys Fans: Lets trade a 2nd round pick for a high 4.5s guy that doesnt get separation over signing a 4.43 guy that is known to take slant routes to the house….
Has OBJ even had a workout for any team yet? Last I heard he was refusing to conduct a workout.

Any real argument is compensation in acquiring either player and cap consequences. Which player is the better receiver is not questionable.

Remember we only could get a 5 for Cooper as teams knew we had to get rid of him, either a trade or he was going to be released. Maybe they feel the same, knowing the Cardinals cannot keep him and eventually the price either comes way down or he gets released.

Also, I think OBJ's skillset is a better fit for Dak and the offense. Good route runner, that gets separation. Has a big catch radius like Hopkins, but many still believe he can also stretch the field. Hopkins is a receiver that gets very little separation and QB's have to throw into tight windows trusting he will make the catch. Dak never did well with Dez who had a similar skillset. Look at the other receivers they looked at last season Cooks, Juedy, Hilton, they all are more like OBJ then Hopkins.

Important to bear in mind they can WANT a high pick all they like, but apparently no one has offered one just yet.

Given the contract situation, which I presume he would only agree to rework for a team he wants to play for…..Arizona has very limited options.

Arizona may do better after the draft, when a pick next year is less valuable than it is for the upcoming one.

OBJ was a cluster while in Cleveland. Proven to be a Me Me guy. Hard pass.

Not true. I had nearly 40,000 posts before the likes feature was created. My true number would be astounding.
CowboysZone/Ripley's Believe it or Not!

It is not widely known but most of Risen's big head fills the inside of his bowler hat.

This has been CowboysZone/Ripley's Believe it or Not!

I read between the lines and listened to them , fan speak to quench that fore fans are upset over that trade..IMO they wil do just as i laid it out.. we can shelve this bring iot back when they dont get DHOP or cooks and get OBJ at a discount or simply do exactly what i believe.. go get depth with vet and drft this juice..

TBD

be back to talk about this post draft when we have more information's. the rest is all talk to appease fans.

On dhop, this big impact difference maker , how many NFC ?AFC? championship games has he elevated his teams too? cooper as well?? hmm these impact players we already had 18-21 nearly the same WR core and it got us how much further then last year without them?? right, it didn't. CD was our leading WR with and without coop and ced., 21/22 our one and done both with and without them..

weve lost the last 3 playoff games because of lack of physicality in the trenches mostly along the OL no threat of real effective run game to take some pressure off the pass game. start there, the rest will take care of itself.

2nd issue also OL pass protection win rate bottom 10 in the league. low sack totals does not tell the entire story, lets get this OL more improved , DL maybe bit better in the middle and not worry about DHOP or Cooper...

I like Hopkins and would be happy to have him….but I just don’t see how a guy on the wrong side of 30 that makes big money….who you’re realistically going to only have for two seasons….is worth a premium pick.

It would make US better to the point where it’s probably worth doing, but based on history the market for this guy is a mid round pick. No need to give up something that you don’t have to (especially with the way we treat the draft).

Again, they can ASK for a premium pick all they like. Haven’t heard anyone scrambling to make that kind of offer.

The team is already good. We don’t need him to make us good- we need him and the addition of Gilmore to push us over the hump and him specifically at a position of need.

You coming back after the draft after the front office takes action isn’t some victory lap- most of these people are telling you (including myself) that we won’t trade for hop but that we should. The truth is the cowboys likely don’t but that doesn’t make them right. On the o line you can still improve other areas if you get Hopkins- to say you can’t is just being disingenuous.
