So you're honestly fine with Keith Brooking being rated 4 points higher than Bradie James?

What about MartyB being better than Patrick Crayton?

Oh and I love that any free agent we ever sign to the Cowboys gets a ratings downgrade. Like Olshansky going from an 86 while he was a Charger at the end of the year but is now an 80 with us.

Sensabaugh went from a 79 to a 73. Brooking from an 89 to 86.

I've noticed that as well. They pulled the same B.S. with Tank Johnson and Zach Thomas in 2009.

The whole ratings thing is true, but the ratings need to be more correct in between the mid level players, rookies and superstars. If Crabtree is as good as Roy, Roy needs to be more refined, have better hands, better acceleration, etc.

James was a 86 or 88 by year's end, at least players like Ratliff, Newman, and Ware can hold their own. Developing players on Franchise remain to be seen. As long as we can get Brewster and Williams developed in the game, I would be pretty excited for my Madden Cowboys.

This thread reminds me of that great commercial they had a few years back.

Some real WR who I can't remember is playing the game with one of the tech guys. He catches a pass and gets caught form behind. He's POed and tells the tech guy he would have gone all the way.

Tech guy says our data says you losy a step. The WR just glares at him. Classic!

I see they had Ware at a 98. That's some high praise. Anyone in this years game ranked a 99?

A few things for me...

Roy is not as slow as they're making him out to be. That's just pathetic. I mean they REALLY think DWare is faster than Roy? Seriously?

Tony Romo toughness. Now I don't question how tough he is, at all, but how is he got a so much higher toughness rating than Jason Witten? Are you kidding me? Witten should be a 99 toughness, without a doubt, and last year, alone, proved that.

Austin seems like he'd be faster than a 91 but then maybe that is actually right on par with where he should be. Just doesn't seem quite right in my mind.

How the heck is Columbo rated as our worst O-Lineman and Andre is our best? I can't imagine how that worked out like that.

If I was Marcus Dixon (48 overall rating) I would be feeling pretty bad about myself.

The guys that really make no sense to me are:

Choice
Jones
Austin
Sensabaugh
Jenkins
Scandrick

and secondly, they still have Greg Ellis on the roster.

Marion Barber practices with a weighted vest. That's all you need to know about the dude.

Marion Barber got a 82 rating in STRENGTH...lol

I promissed myself I wasn't going to join in on this. Just enjoy it for what it is. But I can't help myself. Barber probably the strongest RB pound for pound in the NFL. Breaks more tackles than Jacobs. Wonder what the have his strength at.

They have Brandon Jacobs' strength at 88 with a 90 overall.

Btw, their free agent pick up, our former Chris Canty, stayed the same at 84. So somehow Olshansky, who was better than Canty in the last Madden, dropped to be 4 points worse than Canty this year.

Did not know this. That's smart. I wonder how many other players do that. I'll bet it's all the players who aspire for greatness.

I just love hearing stuff like this. I know Barber has a contract larger than his actual production may have warranted. But it's stuff like this that makes sense of the money he makes.

Witten's toughness rating is laughable. How on earth is a rookie TE, Phillips, so much tougher than Witten?!

And Marty B has less agility than Witten? I think everyone knows who the more agile player is.

Crayton and Hurd's awareness is pretty low. Crayton's and Williams' catching ability is absurdly low while Witten's is probably a little low too.

Choice as the best blocking running back is interesting. As many fumbles as Barber has last year his carrying ability may be a bit too high. If it's not too high than Choice and Jones are too low. There isn't that much discrepancy in their ability to not fumble.

Doug Free was rated overall higher than I expected.

Hilarious that they kept Tra Battle in the secondary instead of Mickens.

Butler and Williams are both low 50's overall. Carpenters speed is 77, yet Williams is a 87? They ran close to the same 40's

Alan Ball is a 45 overall with 83 speed... Somebody email madden and tell them what his 40 time was.

Not really down, they adjusted the scale to make the elites truely elite. I think you'll see more of an impact in the game from players like Ware this year, whereas I've always tried to get him on my team only to have him dissapear and post up mediocre numbers. I've seen him get stonewalled by nobodies far too often, so hopefully their new scale works.

That's a really good idea. In recent years everyone who's a starter has been an 80+, it seems.

Also, Nmamdi should be a 101 (yeah, I know they can't do that.... :) )

I know he is in full pads.

Austin at a 91 being 6'3" and 215 is pretty darn impressive.
