I think the threatening to fine Dallas players over the decals lacks good, common judgment and decency. The NFL could have looked the other way or made an exception and instead chose the opposite.

As far as the protests, the league could have found that under conduct detrimental to the league because it's such a vague description. Just like they fined Randy Moss for the fake mooning of the Packers fans which was within the rules of celebration or Richie Incognito's suspension which was not within the rules.

The league chose not to do any of this because it has been rife with double standards in Goodell's reign as commissioner.

I agree with the decals. I also think you feel that way because this is something you want just like with the anthem it seems like you don't want even if there is no rule against it. You'd have a hard time proving conduct detrimental to the league. That would look so silly its not even funny. With the Moss fine I can see some extensions of a rule but I don't know exactly what happened with Richie so I can comfortably speak on that. The world is rife with double standards and people only complain when they don't benefit them. How often do we see people complaining about double standards that work for,them? Its unfortunate and I wish they would go away but unfortunately I don't think that will ever be the case.

As we see with EE, the league can basically make up the rules as they go. So they don't have to prove conduct detrimental to the league and could fine away.
