I agree the FG attempt is the safest. But, those points aren't a given. The kick could be blocked .... like ours was against GB. If Reynolds catches a couple balls, no one is as passionate about the decision.

Yeah I can respect him going for it because that's what this team is. Kicking the FG would have been the first move of Detroit playing not to win.
But maybe the risk was not worth the momentum swing. They can still win this game playing their brand of ball, but that was definitely an ugly 10 minutes.

That's something that i admire about the 49ers, they would not commit long term to a QB they didn't want to. They had Kaepernick got em to a Super Bowl gone, they had Jimmy G got em to a Super Bowl gone. They moved heaven and earth to trade up for Trey Lance gone. I think they found the right one now.
