Mo will get 8 picks this year and be a shutdown corner, "Book it."

Carter and Claiborne - 2 guys that really don't care that much about the game.

I am sure at some point I will get over this (I mean it's not life or death)..........but I cannot believe we spent the #6 overall pick on this guy.....AND.....AND we gave up our 2nd to for the right to draft this guy. You can blame Jerry for giving his stamp of approval to take this gamble...but TRUST me when I tell you....there were scouts AND coaches who sold Jerry on this. Where are they now? Are they even still with the team? So far...I cannot tell the difference between Mo and a 3rd round pick!!!!!!

It comes down to philosophy and/or identity for me. And Jerry....as the architect of this franchise.....does not...and never has....had a philosophy. All teams miss on picks. But the Baltimores and New Englands and more recently the Seahawks....and soon to be Eagles....they select coaches and players that contribute to that identity. Too often we just seem to "collect talent" With no idea how we are going to use them or where they will fit. Be it Martellus Bennett or Felix Jones...and now Mo. For the life of me....I cannot understand what they saw in this guy to warrant giving up as much as we did. I could go on for another 500+ words...but I just wanted to add that I am STILL in shock at this pick. The #6 overall pick should be franchise changing. QBs, LTs, "rushmen".....if you are going to spend it on a CB...it better be Champ Bailey or Patrick Peterson. Mo is not even Terrance Newman! I will stop for now.....SMH!

If we didn't draft him top ten, do you think some other team wouldn't have? He was projected a top pick. People need to quit acting like the Cowboy's are stupid organization that got hosed. Pretty much everyone had him pegged as a top ten pick and the top corner in the draft, SMH.

Yet how quickly some downplayed Claiborne's porous Wonderlic score to an extreme level. Yeah, we know that if you score really well on it that you're not guaranteed a spot in Canton and if you do really bad on it you're doomed as a player. However, I think we can all agree that scoring low on it is a definite red flag and shouldn't be brushed off as inconsequential.

Yep. Look at a guy like Richard Sherman. He may rub some people the wrong way with his ego, but the man is highly intelligent. I read that he was high school valedictorian and was earning his Master's from Stanford when he got drafted.

Don't think that is saying much....there is a reason teams are drafting in the top 10. And somehow someone like Seattle is able to find BALLERS in the middle rounds!

Listen...I am not trying to put this all on Jerry. Jerry has people that are well paid that sold him on this guy. Just wondering who they were and what role they do/did have in the organization. The #6 overall pick is a BIG deal. Like I said...forget that he does not appear to be a HOFer or Pro Bowler....I am just waiting for him to look like a 3rd rounder!!!

He's has been injured (I know), but when he has played he has not been as bad as everyone makes him out to be. There is much hyperbole when it comes to Clay. If he's healthy, I think he has a good year (as good as you can have with no pass rush, that is).

"Marinelli isn’t the kind of coach who massages a player’s ego just for the sake of being polite." I like that, it really comes down to Claiborne going out and doing the job. Myself I have not lost confidence that he can be an outstanding CB in the league

Regardless of what's being said by anyone, Morris simply needs to put on his big boy pants and suck it up. Everyone was on his bandwagon when they thought he'd be "the 2nd coming of Deion." Now that reality has set in, everyone's on his case. I doubt he planned it this way, it just happened. Realistically, it's not too late.

This year should be a pivotal one for him and his career. The challenge for him lies ahead -- for his sake and the team's, let's just hope he'll make the best of it. I'll; be pulling for him. And you? Honestly, I believe that was Marinelli's message. It was an honest and truthful one, that;s for sure. Time for Mo to produce like he has in the past at Bama. Good luck with that.

I agree. I'm not placing full blame at Morris' feet..............it's the schmucks whom anointed him worthy of a first round pick. Drafting him that high and throwing him into the fire was an epic fail.

Didn't Mo attend LSU..............?

Guess all the draft analysts and scouts were schmucks then, cause almost everyone had him as the top CB in the top ten. Easy to look smart years later...

Third year for Mo. Put up or shut up and move on.

Another player that IMO has the tools, but right now they are scattered all over the garage.

I can't blame Jerry and Co on trading up for him. He was the best corner that draft, and it's not like they did that trade up for a risky player at the time. I didn't mind the move at the time, and I'm not upset at the FO for doing that type of move to improve the team.
He was supposed to be a good M2M corner that had shutdown potential. It made sense at the time, especially acquiring Carr, when we had Rob here.

Give me a break people. He's obviously saying that they wouldn't start Claiborne if they didn't have confidence him.
Except that they weren't going to start Claiborne if Scandrick was able to play

His history goes back a lot longer than two weeks ago.

He was injured it happens that does not mean a player lacks toughness. I have no issue saying he has underachieved regardless if it is injury related or not. If your not on the field your not helping the team. Having said that until you walk in his shoes to claim he is not tough enough You go play CB with a shoulder that required surgery and see how tough you are.
