I initially had ultimate confidence we would beat the Giants week 1 prior to Romo's injury. I felt that way up until Monday and Tuesday about our game on Sunday, then some doubts set in when I was told by the media we have little chance to win with Prescott under center.
Then I got to thinking how these teams match up. The Giants were lucky to escape with a victory over the Cowboys in the second match up last season when we were all but eliminated out and depleted with injuries. The Cowboys were just as lucky week 1, but truthfully we were not good in that game whatsoever.
I have a feeling we have something for NY this Sunday. I have to think the coaching staff learned their lesson from last season and their ultraconservative gameplans won't hold for this Defense over 60 mins. The Prescott led Cowboys will look a bit different than we're used to. I'm personally excited. In a strange way, having Dak @ QB is a complete unknown to our opponents at this point. When will the Read option come? **Can he make the one on one throws? When is that screen pass they ran in PS coming? Play action will be our friend in this one for sure. I'd throw in some uptempo and show confidence in Dak's ability to lead.
It's going to be fun. I think the Cowboys win fairly easily. I don't see them stopping Zeke enough to put the entire game on Prescott's shoulders standing in shotgun. I think Prescott makes them pay early with a few backshoulder strikes, and some nice play action pass plays. He may not play perfect, but he will play well in this game. If we protect the football, we will win going away.
Who says we're running on 1st and 2nd down?
Playaction will be Dak's best friend.
No way. We will definitely beat SF. Not scared of them at all.Of the three games you list, I'm most scared of SF. We know the other teams so well. SF with Chip Kelly? Interesting, and they have a stout defense.
Sorry, but read the Tony Dungy article. Rookie QBs, no matter how good, are easy to gameplan for. Stack the box on 1st and 2nd down, get him in 3rd and long, and mistakes and turnovers will happen. Thankfully we have a good O line for 1st and 2nd downs. But no O line consistently beats 8 in the box. I don't know our gameplan, but I expect Dak to look very different than he did in the preseason. His throwing windows will be smaller and coverages will be more confusing and intricate. He will be blitzed from all angles. I love Dak's future and am firmly convinced he will be Tony's successor and do well, but I am also realistic. He is a rookie playing against an improved defense and against a team that can score a lot of points on offense. That is not a good recipe for success.
The Jerry that cried wolf.....That's how I feel
I have a very bad feeling about Sunday. I think the Giants DL is a lot better than anyone thinks. I think our defense is a lot worse than we think. And I have a bad feeling that Garrett and Wilcox are gonna cost us the game.
I keep hearing that Wilcox is our dime player, and that scares the crap out of me.
And Garretts game planning with Dak at QB scares me as well. My over/under on first down passes is 1. Way to keep them guessing Red.
Dallas all the way !!! Best group of RB's since Calvin, Duane, and Walt were here --- and you know what took place then-----First Super Bowl win !!!!!!!I initially had ultimate confidence we would beat the Giants week 1 prior to Romo's injury. A Big Win for the Cowboys !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I'm excited for opening day. I have no idea what to expect.
I doubt they bring the house...the screen capability the Cowboys have with that ol and Zeke would wreak havoc early. I suspect they will try to keep the ball in front of them at all times to open up. But if they do bring the house they will regret it. This is not your typical rookie QB.I want to believe. I am excited to see Dak. But they have a pretty good D coordinator, they spent a lot of money on the D in FA, so I have feeling they will bring the house, the kitchen sink and maybe a bathtub on Dak and that will overwhelm the young man. It's hard for a rookie in the NFL. But if we should win this game, the backlash for the Giants would be fun to watch, 200 million bucks spent on D and a Rookie QB in this first start beats ya,, priceless.

As I watch the Denver/Carolina game..
seeing Siemien struggle like he is..
I think DAK will too.
The Gints defense has been changed drastically and who knows what to expect.
And our defense is really crippled until mid-season.
Not sure how we will do at all.
