I don't think Siemian has played poorly...a couple of bad throws but he has made some nice plays as well. He is playing against a very good defense, more proven than the Giants for sure. HE doesn't have the weapons that Dak has nor the OL. No reason Dak can't succeed.
Siemian has done a good job

We are starting a rookie QB all the while having a defense that is, at the very best, mediocre that can't create turnovers or get sacks on the QB.

I'm stoked!

I'm cautiously optimistic. On paper, we have the tools to get it done offensively, but that defense is a big question mark... and paper is just paper. The Philly Dream team was anything but. Still, I do believe we are in for some fun football and I think Dak can put up over 20 pts this game.

That has the best OL in the league, the top running back in the draft, a Hall of Fame safety blanket in Witten and a playmaking receiver in Bryant.

Keep telling yourself that. You are right about those things and I'm trying to focus on those positives myself enough so to feel better about the game but it is what it is.

I don't care what he has. He's a rookie QB that is probably going to struggle some because that's what happens to the majority of rookie QB's. To top it off, he has a defense that couldn't create turnovers or get after the QB last year trying to keep the pressure off of him and the offense.

Now I hope Dak is different and I am excited about what the future brings, but I am in the "hope for the best, expect the worst" mentality.

Time will tell!! I'm excited at any rate. I could see this game tipping either direction but I'm trying to invest good energy into it for the Boys.

Either way expect the media to blow it out of proportion after this game.
Dak doesn't do great: Haha We told you! Just preseason! No playoffs for Dallas!
Dak does great: Dak is amazing. We told you! Romo should retire! Dallas wins NFCEast.

I always get a little nervous before the opener, but I probably believe in this team more than anybody else on the planet.

I'm very confident in Dak and our offense but also aware that he's a rookie QB assuming leadership of a team that will be facing a real live challenge on Sunday. Our running corps should allow us effective ball control and hopefully Dak will respond with the type of poise and accuracy that he did during the preseason. I'm thinking he more than likely will.

At the same time, our defense will be challenged to neutralize a highly capable veteran QB with an exceptional corps of receivers at his disposal, just as theirs will be challenged to contain our running game. Mo and Carr had better bring their "A" game.

I see this game as a tossup affair that will be decided by the team committing the least number of mistakes and turnovers. Here's also hoping Dak has a fine performance, similar to the ones he's produced lately. Let's also trust our receivers to do all they can to make it so.

For me this season is one of the biggest guesses ever. There honestly isn't any record that would surprise me other than 0 and 16 or 16 and 0.

Not as confident, we have a rookie RB and QB leading the team with some apparent weaknesses on defense. If we can come out of the gate and decimate the Giants, we're in for a good season.

People sell Washington short. I get the whole, "we beat them with a backup QB" thing but Washington is building a nice team. Of the first four, that's the one that I think is closest to a sure loss.
I'm selling Kirk cousins short, yes.

This whole best O-line in the league BS has got to stop. Here is the analogy....It's like having the Hoover dam as an O-line...except...it's starring in the movie San Andreas because Doug Free is your starting right tackle.

Who says we're running on 1st and 2nd down?

Playaction will be Dak's best friend.
I agree with this. If they stack the box on the first 2 downs the coaches need to trust Dak to make the right throws. After they get burnt a time or two by play action they will rethink their coverage schemes. If we take what they give us there is no reason we shouldn't be able to win.

I hope you ate right.

As I watch the Denver/Carolina game..

seeing Siemien struggle like he is..

I think DAK will too.

The Gints defense has been changed drastically and who knows what to expect.

And our defense is really crippled until mid-season.

Not sure how we will do at all.
Ummmm. What game are you watching? He played very well against a very good defense. Considering it was his first game (save one snap) I think Denver fans should be pleased.

Honestly? I'm football depressed. He is about to appear this Sunday and in enemy colors.

I initially had ultimate confidence we would beat the Giants week 1 prior to Romo's injury. I felt that way up until Monday and Tuesday about our game on Sunday, then some doubts set in when I was told by the media we have little chance to win with Prescott under center.

Then I got to thinking how these teams match up. The Giants were lucky to escape with a victory over the Cowboys in the second match up last season when we were all but eliminated out and depleted with injuries. The Cowboys were just as lucky week 1, but truthfully we were not good in that game whatsoever.

I have a feeling we have something for NY this Sunday. I have to think the coaching staff learned their lesson from last season and their ultraconservative gameplans won't hold for this Defense over 60 mins. The Prescott led Cowboys will look a bit different than we're used to. I'm personally excited. In a strange way, having Dak @ QB is a complete unknown to our opponents at this point. When will the Read option come? **Can he make the one on one throws? When is that screen pass they ran in PS coming? Play action will be our friend in this one for sure. I'd throw in some uptempo and show confidence in Dak's ability to lead.

It's going to be fun. I think the Cowboys win fairly easily. I don't see them stopping Zeke enough to put the entire game on Prescott's shoulders standing in shotgun. I think Prescott makes them pay early with a few backshoulder strikes, and some nice play action pass plays. He may not play perfect, but he will play well in this game. If we protect the football, we will win going away.

What, the great in-depth analysis that most of these "experts" give, essentially saying "they can't win because they have a shiny, new QB," doesn't work for you? LOL. I happen to agree with you. The Giants simply cannot stop this running game without committing extra resources. Committing those extra resources is going to create wide open passing lanes and Dak is going to punish them. No, the real X factor in this game is on the defensive side of the ball and will dictate the outcome. This defense is a total mystery. They will determine if this is a close, relatively high-scoring game or a fairly decisive Cowboys victory because again, we are going to eat their lunch on the offensive side of the ball.
