Bottom line, if jerry wants something wade will do it...

So I ask, why make these public statements about players, their roles, etc.?

If you want Barber to close. Tell wade that is what you want. Why must this man hold press conferences to say he "questions" how he is being used?

Is it so when a change is made people can say, "wow, thanks to jerry..."

I don't get it. Especially when you coach has his leadership being questioned almost daily, why the owner, the guy who picked this "do boy", would then throw him under the bus...

Because it gives the appearance that Wade is in charge and Jerry is not making personnel decisions. Its just politics and for show. Jerry has stated, there is not one business that I run where I'm not in on the major decisions.

So, I think by doing this, Jerry is saying to the outside world that Wade has some level of authority. As a Cowboys fan, I'm not buying it. I'm not mad either, it is what it is. If you buy Dallas as your team, this comes with the tab. Plus, Jerry has never met a microphone or camera that he doesn't like. He loves the attention that Dallas gets. Its one of the reasons we remain America's Team. The frequency in which the Boys are talked about. Good or bad, Jerry loves the media attention.

A. When did Jerry hold a press conference?

B. If you had a brain you would realize all this stuff jerry talks about, the personnell changes and what they are doing, he is basically just talking about what he was told in meetings by the staff. I guarantee you the offensive staff and wade were talking about the possibility of barber going back to the closer then jerry just repeated it.

the notion that he is the one dictating personnell changes is pretty crazy.

I agree. Much of what Jerry talks about is from what he is getting from the coaching staff.

Why fight it? Let them have their delusions. The team, coaches, and management can explain this until Gabriel blows his horn and it won't register.

Jerry has stated as the GM, he may ask that a certain player get more playing time in an effort to evaluate that player, i.e. should we resign him next year.

Jerry said Ogeltree should get more playing time the week leading up to the Eagles game. That game, Ogletree had his most extensive playing time to date.

I don't hear Gabriel's horn.

Jerry Jones loves to give people the appearance that he is solely in charge.

That is the Problem that Jimmy had with him because he is an ego maniac and wanted the credit as well.

The Coaching staff makes these decisions ...... and Jerry is in the meetings and mouths off the next time he gets in front of the camera to make it appear that he is involved.

you're not confused, you just hate jones and decided it was time to take a shot.

Exactly... Ogletree didn't play more because Jerry talked about him; Jerry talked about him because he heard Garrett and the other coaches praising him.

Gosh...I guess I used the wrong term when I said press conference. I should have stated when he last spoke to the press...

As far as me not having a brain. Well, I guess I'm just not the intelectual giant that you appear to be...sorry for my failings. I will go stand in a corner now and repent. I will try to never ask a question again "soes i's donts get a whoopin sir..."

No, I don't see the 7th angel appearing, but lets be honest... Jerry does have a heavy hand. Do I think he makes personel decisions in a vacum - no. Do I think any decision gets made without his input - no. Do I think he has veto power over any decision - yes (he has admitted to as much). I'm of the opinion (rightly or wrongly) that if Jerry wanted Barber to go to the closing role, Barber would be closing.

FYI, I'm no Jerry basher. I've accepted who he is. You spend the kind of money he does every year, you earn that right in my book.

I happen to think different. Again, Jerry stated as GM, he will ask the coaches to play a certain player more to get a better read on whether that guy should be resigned or not. To think Jerry does not have a heavy hand is not realistic. Even he said, that he has final say on all decisions.

Nope. I actually love jerry as an owner. Not to keen on him as a G.M., but I've seen worse in this league...

Just questioning motives...

btw Iceberg thanks again for inviting Ian and I to your friends band's show last year...that bar was great!

I agree Jerry has veto power however Jerry has said many times he does not call the plays he is not the HC. Just as he is not a scout he listens to what the scouts have to say and if a final call needs to be made because there is no consensus he will make it. I’m sure Jerry listens and talks with the coaches and much of what he talks about is from the input they give
