It can be supported if I didn’t have better things to do with my time. When the thread was started asking if anyone would be torn if we won a SB with Dak and not Romo many said they would be. I specifically asked a couple of posters if they were guaranteed a SB win with Dak would they take it or risk losing a SB with Romo and they chose the latter. Fans say crazy things here because they know these scenarios can’t happen.

You’ve been on this board longer than I have surprised you haven’t read some of this. These aren’t claims they’re facts. They’re fans on this board that are pulling against Dak. They want him to play poorly so the Cowboys will give Rush or White an opportunity or draft another QB. They don’t like his game and want him replaced. The round that he was drafted has nothing to do with the level he plays at. Romo was undrafted. Brady was a 6th round pick. It doesn’t matter where he was drafted. Should the fans be thrilled because he is a below average QB which is playing better than most 4th QBs? Not really . Below average is below average no matter where he was drafted. You really shouldn’t call other fans idiots because they hurt your feelings about Dak. He may not be the worst, but he is closer to being the worst than he is to being the best.

Most of his critics were held at bay during the win streak but their disdain began to bubble over and erupted after the Indy game.

He did begin to play much better before Indy. In my opinion he was beginning to be to play well consistently.

However, the last two games he's kind of stepped back again. I think Indy was a mulligan for the entire team. I was at work during Tampa but what I did see wasn't very good, however Dak and our coaches dont really push it once we get control of the game and I think that hurts his performance. I realize thats not an excuse though but it is symptomatic of his ineffectiveness.

Because of the last two games I am an advocate of playing most of the starters vs NY. Id like to see him and the offense gain a little momentum heading towards the playoffs. Id also be interested to see if Dak/Linehan/Garrett might be more aggressive playing with nothing to lose.

I think more than anything we need a coordinator that can take advantage of Daks strong points and minimize his weaknesses. The most prudent move this offseason I believe is to make that hire and let Dak play out his rookie contract, then we can make a decision in 2020. I know we could potentially save money by signing him now but we are really still figuring out who he is.
