Ware's final season with the Cowboys they had 34 sacks. Without Ware in 2014 the team had only 27 sacks and this past season 31 sacks. Ware on the field helped generate more of a pass rush freeing up others to get to the QB because so much focus was on defending him. He was the only defensive player the Cowboys had who put fear in opposing offenses. During the Cowboys 8-8 seasons they never had fewer than 34 sacks and had 42 sacks in 2011. Even the Cowboys 2010 6-10 team had 35 sacks with the presence of Ware.

So we're all Broncos fans in the Super Bowl then right?

I really want to see Ware get a ring.. It will be the closest thing I've felt to a Super Bowl victory since I was a child.

Love D. Ware but the Cowboys absolutely made the right move.

He is not worth the 9 mill a year Denver paid him at that point and he was breaking down on us.

I think Ware and the Cowboys were shocked that he was offered that deal.

I'm not trying to be rude but I don't see how that works.

Ware left for more money, which is his right, but how does that tie in with DAL?

It doesn't, bk. But there's no denying that many of us have an emotional attachment to Ware after rooting for the guy for the majority of his career.

I equate it to the divorce with my ex-wife. At the beginning the was anger and vitriol. That subsided and, honestly, now I wish her no ill will and actually hope she's happy in her life.

Same, for me, with Ware. I hope his HOF career ends with a championship because he deserves it and it really has nothing to do with the Cowboys.

I was wrong on Ware. I do think his body was breaking down while here and probably still don't have a problem with them letting him go due to his contract but he's a lot better than I thought he would be at this point. Def. rooting for him to get a ring. Him and Wade both deserve it. Ware is a Cowboy for life. I don't care who he plays for. He was a professional here and a GREAT player and role model. One of the best guys in sports.

Ware didn't leave for more money. He didn't ask for a raise. The Cowboys asked him to take a cut and he didn't. I don't fault either party. Why would Ware take a pay cut when a team was willing to still pay him 10+ million a year? A contender at that?

Ware looked like he was in his prime today, under Wade.

Ware was Ware today, just made plays.

And Wade can still coach a heck of a D. Needs talent of course but he coaches them up as good as the best of them. It was the D that was the star of this game.

Congrats to Ware AND Wade.

I love Wade as a coordinator . He's just not a good head coach. Hope he gets one though because he is a good guy.

Exactly my feelings. I've always loved the guy (and his dad) and have wished him well. I wasn't mad at him when the HC gig in Dallas didn't work out, just disappointed. I would have loved to have seen it work and for Wade to have coached this team to a Lombardi. It just wasn't meant to be. I hope the Broncos win the Super Bowl so that Wade and D-Ware both get rings.

He actually agreed to take a pay cut here down to 10M (from 14+). The brain trust here offered him 5 and he walked. His cap hit was 8. I don't understand the point of having him at $10 or letting him go at $8.

It was a short sighted move further made worse by the fact that there was no plan to replace him as usual.

LOL just about everyone here was okay letting Ware go. I couldn't understand why though.

The general concensus was he would disappear at times and was becoming injury prone and was paid to be a elite passer. His last 3 years in Dallas he sack count went from 19.5 to 11.5 to 6.

Its not just a random team bro, the guy that won the game for the Broncos was the face of our franchise for years and their defensive coordinator was our head coach during that same time frame.

Kinda ironic and sad at the same time.....they both had to leave Dallas to experience going to a Superbowl.......that is not being butt hurt, that is a fact.

There's a clear difference between stating facts or having a decent conversation, and moping around all butt-hurt, whining like a child.

Did you read the game threads this weekend? The majority of the posts are pure Rant Zone material. Many people on here can't enjoy a non-Cowboys football game without somehow tying it to our current situation as a means to complain more. It's weak.

And Wade Phillips is not a good HC. He's not headed to a SB because he's "not with Dallas". He's headed to the SB because he's the DC (his true role) on what is a well run team at the moment. It's not as though Dallas was handicapping him from making the SB. In fact, many reasonable people actually think our roster and culture turned to trash under his " leadership".

So, bottom line, if people want to be happy for Wade, cool. But linking the situation to the Cowboys is lame.

The players still have to play. It is on them. JJones has changed schemes and coaches too.

Wade reached his ceiling here, as did DWare.

Fans love over-reacting to the latest thing.

What about CAR? They stunk last year and lost their #1 WR before the season.

We have had more than enough talent to have won more since Romo got here.

He's only changed the defense, to shift blame from his Red-Headed boy wonder. Every REAL change has been on the defensive end.

Wade was totally handicapped here.

Let this sink in.. Jerry should have at least brought in Dan Reeves here when this team was struggling offensively per Wade's advice. It took four more years for Jerry to at least surround Jason with experience. That in and of itself was proof enough Wade couldn't touch the offense.

Wade fired Bryan Stewart, his hand-picked guy to train on Jerry's insistence, but couldn't get anything in offense here. Jerry told him to stick to defense.

Let this sink in.. The year he was fired, by the time he was fired, the offense had 19 TOs in 8 games and his defense gave the ball to that offense 10 times. Wade was already giving indications that this team needed to learn how to protect the ball, but you could tell the frustration in his face when nothing *** being done. Jerry just tried getting guys to plug in for Jason, saying all they needed was a second receiver. That's why they leveraged a draft for Roy Williams.

The first year Rob Ryan came, he generated twenty plus TOs and Garrett's offense was hovering close to 30.

You want to know why this defense never gets it done? Because the offense keepd handing it back to the opposing team.

Garrett can blame his defense for not generation TOs, but yes neglected his whole history of opposing defenses taking it away from his offense.
