So I was wrong. He made the 53. Not the direction I would have went, but it doesnt matter now.

I hope he plays even half as well as some of you have promoted. Would have been nice to see more in PS, but it is what it is.

Not sure what the plan is with RoJo. I know hes out the first two. Thought if they were going to cut him that theyd do it now. They could cut him after game two. They could still bring him on. That'll force someone off.

For now, I just want Duece to contribute. Every spot is valuable. But he is officially a Dallas Cowboy and I wish him well.
At the very least, he might be a weapon catching out of the backfield. Get him the ball at the 2nd level and he can be a menace with his quickness. Reminds me of how much I used to hate Dave Meggett on the Giants. You old enough to remember him?

I said the day we drafted him he would make the 53, even if it came down to Jerry making sure of it. They made far too big a deal drafting him for him not to make the team.
Here's what you actually said:

Everyone is pulling for him, but he’s not going to get near as many touches as fans are hoping for or are predicting he will get this season. Currently he has three backs listed ahead of him. I think he’ll make the team, but he could also end up on the practice squad.

Duece always was going to make the 53-man roster, it was baked into the nepotism the day he was drafted... It's what the Joneses do best.
Lol, that's ignorant. He here because he is good. Remember what you said every time he makes a play.

We aren't clueless and Deuce will not be irrelevant like you said he would.

Deuce can do his damage between the tackles. You will find that out soon enough.

Kept Luepke and Deuce. That was my ideal for next year. Didn't think they'd make it this year, and certainly not to start the season.
Good for them and us.
Luepke made total sense over Mckeon by contract and role.
But Deuce made it by having juice. RB/WR.

Oh hell yes. This team loves him and I bet they treat him like a little boy...lol. And now he is playing with the big brothers that love him, you can see it in film they like him. Yes, some say he is just a gadget player, well, he might be, and he will trick the field your on. They don't cut a player like him, and we will get to see him coming up, and that is when his adrenalin will kick in. Feed him up good with some Spanish. The NFL is going to be surprised, so are we.

Oh, he was not here to block, he is here to run like hell is after him.
You're going to hear other people compare some of his moves to Barry Sanders, then others say things like "pump the brakes."

His legacy will come down to how well his body holds up, and the guy takes care of himself.

Call it whatever you want. The guy earned it.

You don't have to convince me of that. I fully expect him to. I'm just giving an at the very least example for those not convinced.

Lol so a corner of your mouth appreciation thread a congratulations that was actually a knock because you think you know more than the coaches and the fan base you said he would definitely make it.. Go again I'm tired of asking you this look what he did in college you don't think he ran the football against big time college opponents you weren't paying attention and now all he has to do is be a scaled down version of himself less carries same production he will make plays he will be important to this team he is a smaller version of Tony Pollard think about it.. But he was a regular running back he was not a gadget play guy you can't get 5000 scrimmage yards in college and then act like this guy can't play he also was the top receiving running back in the draft.. His number say he's a good player his training camp showing and his preseason output shows he's a good player.. I don't care how big or small the dude is we saw him play full time in college and do something only two other players at that college did ever in the history of Kansas State and that's put up 5000 scrimmage yards those other two productive NFL players Tyler Lockett and Darren Sproles.. Can we stop the nonsense about his size the Cowboys will not be hammering the guy into nose tackles all game that's not his game but he could still run just about every play they ask him? he can make moves that are very sandersesque.. no one saying we're counting on him but what he's shown in camp and preseason.

says,

HE WILL ADD GOOD Things TO THIS Offense...

Did you watch the first couple of preseason games, and do you know who the other backups are? I can't imagine not keeping Deuce on the 53 given those conditions.

That said, I'm not suggesting he will be great, but it seems obvious his running skills and vision are better than the other backups. A nice surprise is that with his low center of gravity & strong lower body that despite being small he doesn't go down that easily.

He can’t block.
again i dont want him to I want him to burn defenses blitzing with his skillset... JG/KM need blocking RB's the rest of the NFL world likes RB's who make plays and can chip block some...This whole blocking RB is a mirage used by Jerry to sell you guys on Zeke still playing.

He fills the roll of home run hitter. His carries are going to be along the lines of:

stuffed
stuffed
+3
stuffed
-2
stuffed
60 yard TD run

Luepke and Dowdle will get the short to mid range yardage. Pollard, of course, the feature back.
Obviously only time will tell, but I disagree with this characterization. Deuce doesn't seem to be a guy who will dance around looking for big plays to open up, and get stuffed several times in the process before one does. He seems to focus on finding whatever seam he can and going upfield, and he is small & strong enough to make something out of those seams. He's also not a speedster that will outrun everyone to the end zone. I think he will get some big runs, but that be because of his ability to make people miss, not because he will eventually find that big hole to shoot through.
