i dont see it.he misses easy throws too many times and his completion percentage reflects that.

We are talking college ball. He is great by that standard.

He looked pretty good today against Penn

Today during the game they were comparing him to Matt Hasselbeck. If that's his peak then he's a solid quarterback for the last first round or early second. I just don't see him as a quarterback that would be a true franchise quarterback. Andy Dalton seems to be a current comp to him.

Disclaimer: I am not an NFL scout and reserve the right to change my mind after the scouts get a close look at him.

Yea I don't see Andy Dalton at all. Dalton s smaller and more athletic than Hackenberg, but doesn't have the arm-strength that Hackenberg has. He has an elite arm. He's more of a traditional big, strong pocket passer like Carson Palmer, only with worse accuracy.

I was too quick to say Dalton. I wasn't thinking physically but more of talent level - that being a good starter but not a star. I'll agree that Carson Palmer is probably a better comp physically. I really think Hasselbeck is the best comp for size and ability.

Mediocre. Will need lots of weapons and a great defense to do anything in the pros. Just a game manager IMO, not a difference maker. (Trent Dilfer)

BS....pure and absolute BS. You have no source and NO clue because it isn't true. I've seen CC play every game of his 4 year career including 12 games in person and there is NO truth to him "not being a great locker room guy". I've got season tickets to MSU and have NEVER heard one rumor of him being a problem in the locker room. Even if it were true, that has never stopped Jerrah and Co. before. What a clown post RS12...congrats.

What's the matter with you? What RS posted is what had been reported. It's certainly not verified as far as I know but the question has been raised. In any event, why not tell us what you thought of Cook having seen him play so many times as well as knowing him and offer some insight. Instead, you respond like an ******* to a post that wasn't even directed at you.

Isn't he a 5th year senior? Reminds me of how Weeden as 28 year old dominated kids at college level, he is only 22 but did he get an edge by playing 5 years?

He played that championship game injured.
Did have a couple of clutch throws into tiny windows,
Good for him.

As for the 5th year senior, a ton of seniors in college ball were redshirted. No big deal.

Yea he's a Redshirt Senior. That could also be better though for the team who is drafting him if they need him to play right away. He's older, more mature, more experienced, better suited to play as a rookie, etc.

I like Cook. Other than the clock management gaffe against Nebraska he's had a pretty solid year. Even if he does have a "BMOC" complex I don't think that will carry over into the pros. I also think his experience in a big program will serve him well in the Cowboy fishbowl. I think he's gone in 1st round (Rams?) but would be tough for Jerrah to pass if he's there in round 2.

That makes sense if a team drafts him in the 3rd or 4th round. If we're talking about him as a first or second rounder the age does work against him.

I like Connor Cook, but the more I watch him play the more I just don't think he's a high-level NFL talent. I think he could be a solid backup, maybe a bit improved Drew Stanton, something like that, but I just don't see him being much more. I don't like the way he handles pressure and for someone who has been in college for so long, it just seems like his mechanics are off. Love the intangibles he brings, but I just can't see the NFL talent, as much as I'd like to.

A guy a work with is a MSU booster. He said Cook has been nursing a bad throwing shoulder all year.. Might or might not be true. But would explain the accuracy issues.

He wasn't too accurate the previous two seasons, either.

An NFC regional scout said Michigan State senior QB Connor Cook is a third-round prospect.
"The most polarizing guy in the draft is going to be Connor Cook," he said. "Watch. Scouts argue about him all the time. We've seen him long enough that everyone's mind is made up already. He's a third-rounder to me and an average starter at best." Similar to Brady Quinn several years ago, Cook is a long-time starter who folks still can't quite get their finger on despite ample tape to watch. "Cook has been a productive starter who has shown improvement each year, but there are still questions about his accuracy on the NFL level and whether or not he can be a team leader in the locker room and on the field," noted NFL.com. "While Cook might be polarizing, he's also a quality quarterback, and quality quarterbacks rarely fall very far outside of the second round."Dec 10 - 7:32 PM

To me, a college QB under 60% and 8 YPA for his career isn't a great pro prospect, especially when you consider that he's not a great athlete, doesn't have a huge arm and isn't much of a leader. I pass.

(Disclaimer: Only seen him play once.)
