I think McGovern limits the types of blocking schemes they can run. Maybe he can do it but they know CW can. The pulling etc is partly physical part mental. McGovern is definitely capable of physically handling an assignment straight up over him. Next year we will have no choice unless they extend CW which I doubt.

This coaching staff didn't draft Connor Williams.

There is no reason they would favor him over McGovern for any reason other that they believe CW is the best option.

There is no reason that ownership would favor CW over McGovern. One was a 2nd round pick and one was 3rd round pick.

You didn't list the other possibility:
- That McGovern is a quality player but Connor Williams is a better player.

I think Jabril Cox has a high upside and he flashed on many plays in the preseason.

The only player that I wanted them to cut prior to this season was Jaylon Smith.

Having said that:

Jabril Cox has played 9 snaps on defense.

There is no way as a fan to know how well Jabril Cox would perform at LB in real NFL games.

On the play that the Giants QB got a concussion, Cox was not even playing LB. He replaced a DB on that goalline play.

• The 11 players on D for that snap:
  • LB Vander Esch
  • LB Parsons
  • LB Neal
  • Safety Kearse
  • 6 hand-down DLinemen
  • Jabril Cox

In the preseason, Jabril Cox flashed as many good plays as anybody on defense.
- However, he also had more negative plays per snap than any other player on defense.
- He obviously has the required physical ability.
- He is obviously good in coverage.
- His limitation in college and in the preseason was run defense.
- He looked OK physically in run defense in the preseason;
- The problem is that he made a huge number of mental mistakes in run defense.

I watched the video, and I agree, but I’ve seen guys push the center of our line into Dak. And WHY WHY WHY do we repeatedly fail on 4th and short? With our OL, Zeke, Pollard and big old Dak, those conversions should be CAKE!

Simple numbers game. If you got 9 players crashing towards the center, you aren't going to block that up real consistent.

Nothing is cake, nothing in this league is, if a team sells out to stop it and you fly into the teeth of it.

for sure no one likes it but it happens.,., hopefully like last year zeke had 2 bad games in row 4 fumbles this place was all butthurt, he had 1 the last 8 games..so 5 in 15 games where as Dak had 7 TOs in 5 games and hes got quite few fumbles this year and handful of iNts..i guess those MISTAKES dont count? they worse then holding call, hmm id say just as bad or worse..

you giving Dak a pass, you putting up with him? i mean is he perfect LMAO..just because those dudes sometime sar eon an Island on TV easy to see their mistakes doesnt make them any different that n any player..

seriously Daks playing great but hes made some CRUCIAL mistakes in the Redzone, endzone, and gave teams a chance to stay in games ..doesnt even include some real bad passes along the way or a missed read..you get my point yet??

60snaps 3 bad plays, we can go through all 43 game day players who see the field and im betting you can easily find 2-3 mistakes. Like Diggs in NE that call the big reception in the TB game i mean i bet i can find 2-3 bad plays by diggs, parsons, how abut shultz in the Carolina game that was a case of the yips and he had drop in NE in the ez, and others every game..many are missed or forgotten ,

some fans narratives are to PICK ON certain players and it just snowballs.

If the coaches keep him a starter, hes more then competent ..that all we need to know..
