So asking Romo to do what he has done every year as a starter is asking alot but asking Dak to do something he has never done isn't?

I love both these guys how about we let the Cowboys decide who plays and we support them no matter what
You can do as you wish and i will do the same.

Does anyone think that when Romo gets the MRI today, it is announced that " He is progressing, but the bone is still not healed to where ..blah, blah, blah." when in reality he is healthy enough to play in a couple weeks, but don't want even more public controversy---yet.

BTW - I'm all for leaving Dak in until/unless there is a slump and you need a change of momentum. Don't mess with the mojo.
I posted the exact same thing a couple weeks back.

Right now Dak and Wentz are being build up by sports media. Romo is suppose to come back for the Eagles game. I said I wouldn't be surprised to hear something like you explained because a Dak vs Wentz match would be big. People are always arguing who's the better QB. That match up would tell the story.

Also it's best for Romo to come back late in the season fresh and healthy and go on a Super Bowl run a la Payton Manning.

As long as Dak keeps playing well and the team keeps winning, Jerry will keep saying that when Romo is healthy he'll be the starting QB. If Dak is still playing well in Nov and Dec and we're still winning, Jerry will keep saying that Tony will be back when he's healthy. Jerry is going to say all the right things and knows he has a good excuse for not playing Romo without causing a QB controversy. Just keep saying Romo is still healing and continue to play Dak.

Why would it be asking a lot for Dak to play 20 games? Asking Romo to play at a decent level is asking a lot.
I already said why......the rookie wall is real and it scares me for EE as well....they played 12-13 games, usually only the first 3/4s then hit the banquet circuit for 3 months

These guys have no idea what it takes to get thru an NFL season yet.......add in some injuries and it is a grind......having Romo take on some of the load but knowing Dak is ready is a huge ++++++

Son you got some moxie calling a multi-billionaire an idiot.

As long as you're not on the payroll you can call him anything you want. He's not the only multi-billionaire that some think is an idiot but we can't discuss that here. :)

You don't keep players, or play players out of loyalty. That's what got Landry in trouble his last years. The best players should be on the field. If that's Romo, so be it. But I'm not convinced he still gives us the best chance to win.....

What I think will happen is that he will get good news and start practicing with them and maybe even dress as the emergency QB the next week or 2.

Romo wont last more then two or three games tops so it really doesn't matter all that much.

eyes and ears open & mouth shut till I grew up a bit.

I guess I should re-phrase that. Jerry's an idiot when it comes to football decisions...son

That is your perogative Sarek, but like it or not the decision will not be made on this message board. So when the decision is something you dont like you will be miserable, while people who support the team no matter what will be happy :)

Jerry didn't keep Aikman, Emmitt or Ware out of loyalty. Once their performance dropped Jerry moved on from them. The NFL is a what have you done lately business. Landry stayed with the same coaches out of loyalty but when it came to players he felt he could stick in just about any player into his system and it would work. The bad drafts that started in the late 70s forced him to stay with players well past their prime and it caught up with him along with his outdated flex defense.

Even if he gets good results from the MRI, he still can't practice and take a hit for a couple more weeks. Also,
factor in that by the time he is cleared to play, he has not practiced for roughly 9 weeks. As long as Dak is playing well and the Cowboys are winning, why not let Romo heal properly and get in enough practice so that he isn't rusty?

I think Jerry Jones hinted that we might see both. So, we might see both Romo and Dak playing in the same game.

Yeah, like 1970 where Morton and Staubach rotated in the offensive plays!

Romo will be rusty no matter how much practice he gets, practice and games are different. He's going to have to adjust to game speed and see how he responds to being hit. He's missed 10 straight regular season games since last season and played very little in preseason.

What? I thought you were all about telling us how great Wentz is and how you wish he was leading our team?

I think Wentz is great and wanted him at the draft. I can't be pleased with Dak and want him to keep playing?
