This is why I always take those "rosy" comments from Dez/others towards Garrett/Romo with a grain of salt. They have no choice but to be "rosy", when you see pics like this every offseason and you realize the political power they have in the organization.

IDK. While I think Spears comment is silly, if he really sees the issue that way, it's very possible at least some other players see it the same.

Sort of a petty outlook, and I'm not sure how much of could matter, but it's an interesting point whether or not little stuff like this might contribute to small divides in a locker room.

I became a fan b/c of men like the one in my avi and remain a fan in hopes that one day we have men like him representing the star again. Treading water until then..

Yeah, one shouldn't discount what Spears said, seeing as he's actually been in an NFL lockerroom. However, I don't believe his assessment applies to THIS situation. It doesn't mean his opinion isn't valid in the larger scheme of things.

I just think that from the tidbits I've read here and there that Romo ISN'T as open as he once was when he first took over the team. He's certainly closed himself off from the media. His answers are as canned as tuna now. But I've also read that he's much different when the media isn't around. That said, he's an older vet with different responsibilities and goals now. He's in a different place career wise from 3/4 of the team. Same as Witten.

Yeah, it doesn't make it true. But if even a couple current players might feel as Spears does--accurate or not--is it an issue? If enough players feel the same way, eventually it will matter, right?

I think this is nothing to be concerned about.

As Hos said, Jimmy treated players differently.

If you didn't see it, Irvin was late for a plane and Jimmy had them take off, even though he was on the tarmac. Aikman gave interviews to any and everybody after the NFC Championship game in 1992, and missed the bus. Jimmy left him at Candlestick. He had to ride with the journalists on their bus to the airport.

Curvin Richards fumbled twice in a Bears game that had nothing to do with home field. The last game of the season when they sat Emmitt late and had the victory. Jimmy cut him.

Forget his name but there was a field goal kicker that went to Jimmy and suggested he lost his confidence.

Jimmy cut him the next day.

Asthma field. Nuff said.

I would suspect this is more Spears and his attitude toward the team than anything else.

However, having said that, I don't believe this absolves Jones of ruining the management hierarchy by being both GM and Pres. They are two separate jobs.

GM is the guy who the players should fear. Because he should be looking for replacements for every one of them on the team to keep the axe blade sharp.

The Pres is the biggest cheerleader.

But then Jones has castrated every coach but Parcels since Jimmy left.

But this here, at the Final Four means nothing.
