Cooper Rush Appreciation Thread

Didnt need a 100yd rusher

Didnt need multiple first round wrs

Didnt need all pros all over the OL

Didnt need a pro bowl TE
Did need a kick return for a TD. Got two of them.

I'm happy with how Rush played, but this game showed how much football is a team sport. The defense played outstanding for most of the game, limiting what had been a pretty prolific offense. Special teams made things harder at times but then came through with big plays when it all started to unravel.

Great team game.

Yep. People who use that "why do you care about another man's money" are using a straw man fallacious argument. It is ascribing motives they made up in their head and apply to us because they want to discredit us with emotional out burst rather than deal with the reality of it.

Nobody would care how much Dak made if he worked at McDonalds. Likewise, nobody would care what he, or any player made in the NFL IF IT DIDN'T AFFECT THE SALARY CAP WHICH IS A BIG FACTOR IN TRYING TO WIN THE SUPER BOWL.

It is a childish argument to claim that those critical of Dak and his contract are doing so out of jealousy for his money. If that were true then we wouldn't like contracts that ANY NFL players got, but that's not the case as any idiot can easily discern.

If these guys don't want us factoring in contract dollars to Super Bowl chances then they need to convince the NFL to both get rid of the Salary Cap and stop publishing player contracts so that nobody in the public even knows anything about these contracts.
This. x2.

You took a slap at Dak. Let’s see just how astute a football fan you are. Would you rather have Cooper Rush as the QB? Do you believe he gives the Cowboys a better chance of being a great team?
The team currently wins with Rush at about the same % as Dak, little better actually. Does that mean Rush is better?

No.

Does it mean Dak is vital to the team's success and they couldn't win without him like you preached all offseason clamoring for him to be signed or be doomed to NFL purgatory for the rest of existence?

Also no.

i mean those yards did turn into points, GB set record in our house for playoff points....
Well, yes, the Green Bay game was an exception and I will commit to you that Quinn was leaving the defense new it, nobody on this team was ready for a playoff game. As usual.
However, if you look at his entire tenure and the points allowed and turnovers he created, it's truly amazing.
As soon as he gets some talent in Washington, we are going to be in a dog fight every time we play.

Nice game for Rush. All of his limitations as well as attributes are set in stone

What people are having problems with is the phantom points and phantom wins people are willing to give Dak. So every game Rush win is a Phantom win for Dak. MVP!

His type of D only works against weak teams. Wasn't amazing at all. It's like being able to beat up the handicapped.

Let's see how astute you are. Yes. Cooper for 5 mil, as we look to draft another QB and then build a super bowl contender. That is what gives us the best chance of being a great team.

Yeah, it was horrible. The year before against San Francisco in the playoffs, right

How did we win when he didn’t have perfect everything … i thought it was impossible!
Can you say two special teams TDs? Seriously folks. Rush did what we have always seen him do.. Lead the offense to about 20 points. If not for Turpin (and the Washington kicker) bailing us out this would have been a loss. Please pay attention to the games!

I've noticed that ksk, unless he's waiting for a deeper receiver, he actually is very quick at times to throw the ball and it helps his completion percentage.
Huh? Rush's completion percentage is significantly lower than Dak's. And if DB's could catch he would have thrown 5 INTs against Houston. What games are you watching?

So he deserves no credit for wins and all the points we were scoring until this season? We led the league in offense with him twice. He led the league in TDs last season. He deserves no credit for the win over the Steelers on our final play? Every game we win with Rush he receives a lot of credit, mainly from the fans that hate Dak. Look at this Rush appreciation thread that’s 33 pages and counting. Lol He did little in the first half. Had it not been for our defense and the two kick returns for TDs we would have lost despite Washington not playing well. I saw one post with a fan claiming had Rush started this season we might be 7-4 instead of 4-7 despite the fact we’re 1-2 with Rush. This is a crazy fan base.

Enjoy it while you can because in about a month you won't be able to say this anymore. The team has to play a different style of football with Rush under center vs Dak. The way they play with Dak is higher risk/reward. You can win with either but one requires the defense to show up for games. Dak has won games in which the defense gave up 37 and 39 points. Guarantee you that aint hapnin with Rush slingin it. Make no mistake, I prefer the "Rush" game plan by a large margin because I love the running game and smashmouth football way more than the high flyin sling it every down style. But it is what it is. Rush has never led the offense to more than 25 points in any of his 9 starts if I'm not mistaken. He's a limited player who requires a limited game plan.

By the way, the Cowboys have only won one game since Dak went down. They will probably win one or two more this season.. including molly-whoppin the Giants in a couple o days. But barring some kind of miracle 7 wins is the best case scenario where this thing ends up. As long as they continue to show the kind of fight we saw on Sunday I will be okay with that.

Are we automatically supposed to assume that Dak would've won this game? He wasn't the same guy as he was last year before the injury.
The team isn’t the same as last year. Do you not see that? With the way our defense played until the last 33 seconds with two KOs for TDs, along with a decent running game there’s no doubt in my mind we would have won on Sunday with Dak. Anyone who thinks we wouldn’t have, thinks Cooper Rush is better than Dak. Those fans can’t be taken seriously. Do you think Rush is better than Dak? You sure sound like you think he is.

How many games did the defense score TD's in last year? Do we take those W's away from Dak too?

I agree. Quinn appeared to be exceptional like you said against weaker teams, combined with the fact that he stressed going for turnovers. The TO's were nice when it happened but his defense was nothing special against the better teams, and I'll never forget the way his defense fell apart against Green Bay.

I prefer this style as well. Dak doesn't like to play this way though. He wants to play hero-ball and they weren't winning more than 7 or 8 with Dak either. End of the day, Rush sucks, but I love watching him make everyone in this organization squirm at the realization that they didn't have to sell out the future of the team to sign him.
