A backup took us 4-1. He did his job as a backup. He wasn't good last night, but these are the games where our best players should have stepped up. They didn't. The most dominant performance from our D should have been against the Eagles, they folded when Rush and our offense came to life.

It was a team loss. Dak should improve our offense, but Rush did fine in his role. Rush will probably have a pretty long career now as a backup in this league, and that's nothing to be ashamed of. Good for him, seems like a good guy as well.

exactly, km and mm are the ones that failed last nite.
plus the whole team was flat and not fired up, and didnt play well.
And they were playing the best team in football right now at their house.

Had dak played he would have lost too. He might have had 4 int's as he would have thrown more.

Main thing rush did wrong was looking at the wr he was going to throw to. Cant do that vs a good secondary. Dak does same thing.

next 2 games are against weak defenses, so dak wont be tested like rush was till they play phil again.

Man step back from the ledge..4 int's..really? How do you know Dak would've lost? How exactly can you remotley show Rush and Dak are on the same plain in throwing the ball? You cant, its a hope you had maybe but its simply untrue and seriosuly unfounded.

This Rush should be commeneded for the job he did, anytime you have extended games from QB2 and they win most of them thats a huge positive...QB1 should improve the offense and help this defense win games.

4-1 as a starter this season.

He set us up nicely to go on a run and make the playoffs.

Many projected (myself included) we would be 1-5 or 2-4 at this point
I had us at 2-4 and that was with dak...4-2 is a blessing, imo

Near zero probability of winning with 3 INTs vs a good team.

The defense held the Eagles to the 2nd lowest total yards and lowest passing yards of any opponent this season.

The Eagles offense had a short field multiple times. The 85 Bears defense would not win that type of game.
Yes. That is correct.

Rush could have easily had multiple interceptions in multiple games this season. We have been fortunate until last night. I’ll take the wins.

He is a backup. Nothing more. Nothing less. Without a great defense he could be 0 fer.

Having said that, Dak hasn’t been playing all that well, so it’s possible that we could have actually won less games with Dak, not because Dak is worse (he is worse at some things) but because of mistakes, game planning and play calling. Lots of variables go into these things.

I think Rush will look for a starting job first based on what he did this year, but we all know he isn't starting material. Perhaps he gets a raise and stays here for the long-term as a backup.

He got hit by Graham as he was throwing. Nothing fishy, just our LT giving up pressure a tad too quickly.
I looked at it again, and he didn't get hit before he threw it, but I guess he did feel the pressure so that could've affected the throw.

Job well done Cooper, now let's bring in the closer to finish this thing up. If it ends the same way the other 27 years ended, time, IMO, to look for a star QB in the draft. Do what you have to do Jerry, you're not getting any younger.

Simple fact is, the whole "3 turnovers zero probability" garbage (how accurate even is this these days?) - the game was 17-20. I care far far far more that this "elite" defense couldn't stop the Eagles in the 4th and get the ball back for our offense to seal the game than I do a backup QB having a bad game.

xWalker and his posts stay consistently garbage. Guess he had to "study the all-22" to come to this conclusion.

Similar thing was happening to Mahomes yesterday, and that's a future HOF QB. It's just instinct to let the ball go a little earlier if you feel pressure from your blindside. The pressure on that play was certainly the problem, it was actually a good read on Rush's part and would have been a big gain.

I'll have to go back and look because I swear that I saw the contact occur as he was throwing, which is what threw off the throw. Could be wrong though.

I have to think McVay Shanahan DaBoll Siriani among a handful would have a Turpin sitting on the bench drinking hot cocoa and say you know what this is the one perfect time to get the ball in his hands sweep left with Tyler Smith clearing brush and pick up one lousy yard on 4th and one Dallas side of the field instead of Rush slinging it downfield into tight coverage .

Pollard is another home run in the on deck circle doesn’t get enough at bats in an offense starving for juice .

Who do the Cowboys go to?
If Rush isn't the answer, I am okay with that.
But he's better than Dak. The Cowboys with Rush are better than the Cowboys with Dak.
So going back to Dak isnt an option.
Everyone is saying Prescot is going to come back and rescue this team.......LOL! Prescot hasn't won a meaningful game in YEARS! The dude doesn't showup when he's needed the most. Now the Boys are stuck with his outrageous contract!

Rescue this team from what, lol? Being 4-2 which includes wins against the two Superbowl participants and a red hot Giants team?

Geez. This backup QB who couldn't get anything going in the first half brought us back to a 3 point deficit until the D gave up that long drive in the fourth. That's what I call leadership and come back mentality.

I have only one thing to say to Cooper: thank you for the good job and keeping our season alive. 4-2 is an excellent starting position for Dak to get us into the play offs. And while the defense was of course the major factor, Rush led this offense to 9 very decent halves and only one truly bad (against the only unbeaten team in the league). I'd take that production from a backup QB any day. He's been the perfect bus driver and I expect alot more from our starter now that he's back.

This isn't surprising. Cooper Rush has never been good, just adequate at best. The only reason he won earlier was because the defense played lights out and never put him in any position where he needed to make many plays. Once we got down early, it was over with.

Funny thing is, the narrative was "man we showed fight and we came back". Lol.

Cooper Rush failed last night, but overall it's been a good run.

Not only did Cooper Rush fail....the whole freaking offense failed as well.....first half it was 20-3 and NOT one WR could get open...Not 1 RB could get yardage and the oline was lost in the Philly sauce. The Dallas offense came out flat and unmotivated and Philly came out want to spank that *** and they did...... Philly wanted the game more.....they were hungry,,, prepared and ready.....

I do have another take on this.

I agree he failed...at being an NFL starting calibre QB. But there are others who suck just as bad as he did last night so all NFL QBs have those games.

BUT...he did succeed at his primary job which was to be the backup QB. He went 4-1 for us so we have to give him credit.

I think we are all ready to see the Dak train rolling again and take our chances there. Hopefully everyone on the team learned a thing or two in this period of the backup QB.

You've lost it, BR. TOTALLY turned to the Dak hating group. You even have to make this "A+ grip" story up to bash Dak and accuse him of hanging his teammates out to dry is very sad and beyond reaching.

Here are the facts why Dak didn't suit up or play against the Eagles...

Mike McCarthy said a few weeks ago that Dak Prescott would have to practice for a full week before making his return to the starting lineup and that did not happen which backed that conclusion.

Clearly, Dak is not ready. He might not be ready for another week. It all comes down to his injury healing fully enough to where he can not only throw but handle the pressure of tacklers hitting him while his grip strength stays intact well enough to show his hand is able to handle it.

AC stop there's a difference between hating and being disappointed that he didn't play.

I love Dak and I know he could have won that game if he played the way I know he can play.

2016 Dak with the live for the day ride it like you stole it mentality to just put the team on his back and will them to win.

That's the Dak we need and I know it's inside of him.
We have not had a defense like this in a really long time. Combine that with the Dak of old and we could shock the world.

This year unfortunately is a special set of circumstances.
We no longer play in the NFC least
We are currently in the best division in football and that game last night could very well have been the difference between us having a chance to do something really special this year or miss the playoffs entirely

This is why I'm so pissed off because we needed Dak to be the hero I know he can be and it just didn't happen.
