Cooper Rush is Capable of a 400 Yard Game, and Win Against the Ram

.....so the lower paid get complete exoneration for any miscues. A reference for you.......watch the love dissipate with Micah Parsons.......once he comes off the rookie contract. Watch.

No, they should be judged by their play but basic economics dictate that you hold a higher paid player more accountable than a lower paid player simply based on the % of salary cap that player is taking up. This is a basic approach taken by fans, analysts, owners, etc.

yeah, no way he could have thrown for only 200 yards against the Vikings.

Rush subbed for the injured Prescott and passed for 325 yards and two second-half touchdowns, the last a 5-yard throw to Amari Cooper with 51 seconds left in the Cowboys' 20-16 victory over the Vikings on Sunday night.

So 0 TD's in week 1 and 3 out of 10 drives in week 1 were 3 and outs.....in Rush's 3 starts Dallas has scored a TD 2 TD's, 2 TD's, and 2 TD's and they had 1 series of 3 and out vs. Cinn and NYG and 5 series of 3 and out vs. Wash. (Wash focused on shutting down the running game to the tune of Dallas only having 62 yards rushing on 29 carries for a 2.1 ypc average).

So while I appreciate the post the stats you provided are slightly skewed and does not paint the picture you presented.

All that said, nobody is saying Cooper Rush is a Top 5 QB or setting the passing world on fire. He is doing what is asked of him and the most important thing he is doing is not turning the ball over while allowing the Dallas defense to dictate the game.

The stats I posted don’t skew anything. The offense is progressively getting worse under rush. Period. That’s the point. It is what it is. Accept it and move on.

Accept it and move on?Lol Okay, I'll stick with the facts I found from game logs and counter your position that the offense is getting worse than the 3 points scored in week 1.

....but shouldn't anybody that steps between the lines or field of play.......be judged for performance......regardless of pay? How will you get "overpaid" if you don't perform as you're "underpaid"? (excluding the nepotisms or improprieties) That's on every job.....entry level climbing to the top. The NFL is a collision sport with a short work span, where careers can end on a game by game basis.

yeah you didn’t understand what i wrote. The offense is getting worse under rush. From week 2 through week 4. Try again.

Again, I stated all players should be graded based on their on the field play but that higher paid players bring with the higher salary higher expectations.

Therefore.....Zeke because of pay, as a RB......should gain yardage regardless of failed blocking or a poorly designed play from KMoore. Got it.

Oh I understand you are discounting week 1 because Dak started and played most of the game while I showed that from week 2 to week 3 the offense didn't regress and the 'regression' of week 4 was Washington focusing on stopping the run thereby increasing the 3 and outs yet Rush threw his highest number of TD's in week 4.

Stats can be viewed from a prism to show varying outcomes but the basis of your argument is flawed. No worries.

Okay clearly common sense is not getting through in this case so enjoy the day and hold on to the excuses.

I thought the same before this post. Can't wait to read your Zeke posts during the game and reminders of his salary possibly during a Cooper Rush interception, Cee Dee drop, or a glaring missed block on Aaron Donald.

BTW....enjoy your day too. All good, never pesonal. We're in to win it.

Unlike some, I do not root for individual players but rather the team as a whole and therefore have no issue calling out poor play of any and all players.
Right now I am enjoying watching a quality defense shut down opponents and a QB that stays within himself so as to assist a Cowboys victory.

I'm not seeing 300 let alone 400.

Just let Rush clone Jimmy G and ride our D, 400 yards happens if we fall 2 scores behind and I have little faith we have the horses to pull that back.

Rush has been serviceable as we've not asked much of him and we've not played from behind really with the exception of Q3 against the Giants.

Just let him keep the train on the track, that's all we should be asking of him.

I guess anything is possible on an given Sunday. There might be scenarios where Cooper Rush will need to throw ball more than he has been throwing it, such as the defense having a game off enough where they give up more than the one TD per game they have been giving up or the Cowboys find themselves down by a couple of TDs.

But unless there's a lot of YAC yardage by the WRs, then I don't know if he'll throw for 400 if the defense can slow down the Rams offense enough for the Cowboys offense to be more balanced with the run. The game plan for now is to allow Cooper Rush to manage the game and make the throws he needs to make when he needs to make them. And not to have him throw a lot to the point where there's a higher risk he'll turn the ball over. I don't know if he is the type of QB who can take a game over with his arm.

scoring is down

Points per game, first three weeks of season:
2022: 42.0 (35% over total)
2021: 47.1 (42% over total)
but I want Rush to score 30 or more points per game. smh

Offenses in the NFL can’t seem to score. Through three weeks of the NFL season, we’ve seen the lowest scoring rate in over a decade.

Some of you will say it can't be done. Some of you will make it about some sort of paradigm. But we can only play one game at a time with one QB at a time. And that game is this Sunday, it's Cooper Rush against the Rams.

Make no mistake. The Rams will be looking to stop the run, early and often. And Rush will have to pass it.

The knock on Rush is he may throw an INT or two, if we're talking about his college tape. But he hasn't done much of that in the NFL. Instead, he's usually pretty good about not turning the ball over.

On top of that, though, I'd argue that Moore hasn't really opened up the offense too much in the past few games, and he may need to throttle the offense up just a tad if we're going to beat the Rams.

If there's any game to let Cooper Rush sling it around, it'll be this game. And I can see him surprising the nation and hanging 400 yards on the Rams this Sunday.

Not if we want to win. Rush has been fine managing the games and throwing for 200-250 yards. There is nothing suggesting that he is ready to lead the team to wins by throwing it all over the field. Rams secondary when healthy can take away the ball and they still have Ramsey. I would not be surprised to see the Rams have multiple picks against Rush this week. Not that I want to see it happen. But I think it easily could.

Rams run game has been non existent. If we can consistently double Kupp, I think the Rams will have a hard time scoring points. If Rush can put 20 on the board, I think we win.
