scoring is down

Points per game, first three weeks of season:
2022: 42.0 (35% over total)
2021: 47.1 (42% over total)
but I want Rush to score 30 or more points per game. smh

Offenses in the NFL can’t seem to score. Through three weeks of the NFL season, we’ve seen the lowest scoring rate in over a decade.

Interesting how the NFL has created rules to hamper team defenses recently so I wonder if it is OC's overthinking game planning or that DC's have improved their play calling.

If there's any game to let Cooper Rush sling it around, it'll be this game. And I can see him surprising the nation and hanging 400 yards on the Rams this Sunday.

Air Rush does not seem like a winning formula against good teams. Air Dak doesn't, either, by the way.

If the Cowboys are passing that much they're either doing it against a bad team, or playing from behind against a good one.

His game last seasons against the Vikings shows he's certainly capable of a big game. Whether he can against the Rams is another story. I'd rather not have to rely on Rush.

Rush threw for 325 against the Vikings last season after going 24 of 40 passing. Throwing for 400 is possible but does not seem as such simply due to Rush having not eclipsed 235 yards or 31 pass attempts. Regardless, throwing for 400 yards is irrelevant as what matters most is getting the win.

Therefore, if Rush throws for 250 yards and Dallas walks away with a Win then that is all that matters.

PS
Keep in mind that the Rams offense has not been overwhelming so far this season having put up 10 vs. Buffalo, 31 vs. Atlanta, 20 vs. Arizona, and 9 vs. SF. Mind you SF and Buffalo have tough defenses but the Rams barely beat Atlanta in a 31-27 win which saw Atlanta have 3 turnovers and a missed FG, otherwise Atlanta might have won.

The key is the Dallas defense shutting down Kupp and getting pressure on Stafford who has thrown 6 INT's and been sacked 16 times in 4 games.
I do agree but might add the Cowboy must shut the run down first. They have been gashed by the Rams run game.

In the end all this talk is purely academic though. Unfortunately we have a plat guarantee on this game, so a loss is inevitable.
he laid a plat on the wash game, and that went ok, so maybe his plats are no longer a jinx

Some of you will say it can't be done. Some of you will make it about some sort of paradigm. But we can only play one game at a time with one QB at a time. And that game is this Sunday, it's Cooper Rush against the Rams.

Make no mistake. The Rams will be looking to stop the run, early and often. And Rush will have to pass it.

The knock on Rush is he may throw an INT or two, if we're talking about his college tape. But he hasn't done much of that in the NFL. Instead, he's usually pretty good about not turning the ball over.

On top of that, though, I'd argue that Moore hasn't really opened up the offense too much in the past few games, and he may need to throttle the offense up just a tad if we're going to beat the Rams.

No, no. He can't. And he never will.

I think a lot of people, especially Dak apologist forget Rush is only going to get better with more playing time. This is going to be his fifth start ever in the NFL.

Teams will also be getting more and more tape on Cooper Rush. And as I said in another thread, no QB is immune to a good defensive game plan. The Rams just like all defenses against most QBs would hope that Cooper Rush is in position to have to throw for 400 yards, because that might mean the Cowboys are behind and can't rely on the running game as much.

Nor should it be a goal.

Yeah, we don't want the Rams defensive line getting a chance to pin back their ears and come after Cooper Rush, due to the offense having to play catch up football with the Rams. As long as the game is close and manageable, I don't see the game plan diverting that much from what has been working with Cooper Rush so far. Could it be possible that Cooper Rush throws for 400? Well lots of surprising things have played out in the NFL on any given Sunday. But it's more unlikely if the Cowboys can stick close to the game plan they have been using for the last three weeks.

oh course they will but that doesn't take away from the fact that Rush has very little experience in the NFL and he will get better with more playing time. How much better? Who knows what his ceiling. Its most likely lower than Dak's but I think Rush has a better chance to hit ceiling than Dak does.

.....so the lower paid get complete exoneration for any miscues. A reference for you.......watch the love dissipate with Micah Parsons.......once he comes off the rookie contract. Watch.

He'll be a Hot dogg who only cares about himself. Talks too much and stopped playing once he got paid.

That would be the wrong game plan that’s why we’re losing. We were winning in Prescott was only putting up 200 yards game. We went to 400 yards game and started to lose. We lost the balance

Why on earth would you want him to throw for 400 yards when he’s been winning throwing for 200? The winning formula is rely on the defense and run game and let Rush manage the game. We are 3-0 doing it and you’re facing a Rams team that has been struggling with consistency on offense.

I said he's capable. Not that he would.

And I agree about the game plan, generally. But for some reason I can see this gameplan changing a bit.

Not sure why. But I see Rush passing for a bit more than previous games, this game.

If the Rams stack against the run, then it all depends how dumb Moore is and how long he tries to stick with running up the middle.

I was saying this during week 1, that teams across the league are stacked on defense.

There has been a shift in talent-level, and with teams prioritizing defenses.
