Cooper Rush is Capable of a 400 Yard Game, and Win Against the Ram

Make no mistake. The Rams will be looking to stop the run, early and often. And Rush will have to pass it.

The knock on Rush is he may throw an INT or two, if we're talking about his college tape. But he hasn't done much of that in the NFL. Instead, he's usually pretty good about not turning the ball over.

On top of that, though, I'd argue that Moore hasn't really opened up the offense too much in the past few games, and he may need to throttle the offense up just a tad if we're going to beat the Rams.

If there's any game to let Cooper Rush sling it around, it'll be this game. And I can see him surprising the nation and hanging 400 yards on the Rams this Sunday.

I have a lot of faith in Rush but I admit that Rush throwing into a secondary with Ramsey in it makes me nervous. I feel we win Sunday but the defense is going to have to shut down the Rams like the 49ers did. And Rush has to keep playing mistake free football. In all honesty I have as much confidence in the win if Rush or a healthy Dak was playing. This game will come down to our defense controlling the game and our offense having sustained drives with no TOs. I'm also worried about Pollard being dinged up. That sucks. Looking forward to the game, I think we'll win but it'll be a nervous game.

Well, of course that's possible. If the Rams D has a really bad day and our offense a perfect one, than this can happen.

But to be honest, what's the base for such a prediction? Or in other words, what is this thread supposed to achieve? I also think a win ain't that far out of reach as many here want to make us believe. If the defense can keep LA below 20 points again, the Rush offense is always good enough to put one more point on the boards than them.

Anything else would just be a surprise like Coopers win against the Bengals. No one would have put his money on him before the game but everyone said "it could happen".





In the end all this talk is purely academic though. Unfortunately we have a plat guarantee on this game, so a loss is inevitable.

Rush threw for 325 against the Vikings last season after going 24 of 40 passing. Throwing for 400 is possible but does not seem as such simply due to Rush having not eclipsed 235 yards or 31 pass attempts. Regardless, throwing for 400 yards is irrelevant as what matters most is getting the win.

Therefore, if Rush throws for 250 yards and Dallas walks away with a Win then that is all that matters.

Keep in mind that the Rams offense has not been overwhelming so far this season having put up 10 vs. Buffalo, 31 vs. Atlanta, 20 vs. Arizona, and 9 vs. SF. Mind you SF and Buffalo have tough defenses but the Rams barely beat Atlanta in a 31-27 win which saw Atlanta have 3 turnovers and a missed FG, otherwise Atlanta might have won.

The key is the Dallas defense shutting down Kupp and getting pressure on Stafford who has thrown 6 INT's and been sacked 16 times in 4 games.

Why on earth would you want him to throw for 400 yards when he’s been winning throwing for 200? The winning formula is rely on the defense and run game and let Rush manage the game. We are 3-0 doing it and you’re facing a Rams team that has been struggling with consistency on offense.

So 0 TD's in week 1 and 3 out of 10 drives in week 1 were 3 and outs.....in Rush's 3 starts Dallas has scored a TD 2 TD's, 2 TD's, and 2 TD's and they had 1 series of 3 and out vs. Cinn and NYG and 5 series of 3 and out vs. Wash. (Wash focused on shutting down the running game to the tune of Dallas only having 62 yards rushing on 29 carries for a 2.1 ypc average).


So while I appreciate the post the stats you provided are slightly skewed and does not paint the picture you presented.

All that said, nobody is saying Cooper Rush is a Top 5 QB or setting the passing world on fire. He is doing what is asked of him and the most important thing he is doing is not turning the ball over while allowing the Dallas defense to dictate the game.

The game has yet to be played so who is dismissing anything? The fact is with higher salaries comes higher expectations....Zeke is no different just like Dak, DLaw, Tyron Smith, etc.

When lower paid players are stepping up (ex. Pollard, Rush, Parsons, Tyler Smith, etc.) then the spotlight gets brighter on those higher paid players.
