For context:

He went 1-0 a few seasons ago.
He went 4-1 a couple seasons ago.

He now has gone 2-2 in a season that Dak went 3-5. There’s no reason to keep paying Dak every season if Cooper Rush can win games. Why are we paying one player 60 million when the other is serviceable enough to win games when Dak is injured? I don’t get it!
Well, Dak is already paid so….he is here for at least the next 2-3 seasons. The screwup can’t be fixed now.

After Rush went 0-1 all these trolls were laughing at Rush and at us. Where are they now?
Still laughing. Call me when he puts up more than 14 points on offense and beats a good team. In his first stint as starter, the Cowboys won games despite very little offense, then he was destroyed vs Philly. In this stint, teams were destroying him again because the offense cannot put up points. He wins vs Washington and NY by putting up 14 points in each game while the rushing offense picked up vs two bad defenses. Rush is an adequate backup QB with no special skills, but he plays his part. Every game we have won has been due to complimentary football against poor defenses where the offense didn’t have to do much and the defense and special teams provided scoring.

If you are a Cowboys fan, you have to appreciate Cooper Rush, but let’s not be silly. He will never be a starter in the NFL.

We can’t let Rush go. If we let him go then we’re stuck with Dak!
We are stuck with Dak for 3 years....Jerry always keeps players to the end of their contracts before he let's them go regardless of play....did it with Smith, biadasz, Armstrong, Williams, etc. And doing it with Martin, Lawrence etc.

He hates to let players go early...he hates to pay for a position twice which is his thought process if he let's them go early.

You have to admit...somehow...the TEAM seems to play better when Coop is in...he doesn't have tpo win it by himself. He takes what the game gives him.

I did notice him heaving it downfield...adapting his game.

So...Cooper *is* in fact a starter in the NFL. He's doing it now.

So again there should be some QB hungry team offering Cooper Rush a job to be their starter next season. Unless you're saying that Jerry is going to commit to Rush being the starter for the foreseeable future and won't even believe he needs to draft Dak's replacement because of the "Rush record now is" narrative.

Rush's agent should be talking to him about exploring the market if he isn't going to be the starter is Dallas. And actually see how many teams out there are as impressed by Cooper Rush as some fans on this forum is. If there are impressed GMs then the Cowboys could shop Rush around.
rush contract ends at end of season, he will be a FA so he should shop himself around. Try to get more $ elsewhere and maybe starter role.

It's not uncommon for guys to realize that they have to do more when the backup QB is in. That and the coaches realize they have to call the game differently. The defense has finally re-awakened and started forcing turnovers again and McCarthy has finally started actually using the running game the last two weeks. We even saw him hand the ball to Rico on THREE STRAIGHT PLAYS!?!?! against the Giants. When ws the lst time we could say that. Nobody thinks Rush is carrying the team to wins.. He's being asked to steer the ship and has done so the last two weeks. The offense is still stuck on 20 points but if the defense and special teams can continue to do what they're doing we can still win games. No we're not beating any good teams playing like this but thankfully we only play one more good team this season. We should absolutely believe we can win 4 of the next 5. Maybe that will get us into the playoffs and maybe not. I know the rest of THIS season will be a lot more enjoyable either way. We can worry about next year next year.

Oh and Rush is doing it without Martin, Smith, and Ferguson too.

You have "fans" here talking about how Dak is playing with bums while Rush is just doing his thing with those "bums" backups.
Actually I think Hoffman has been a breath of fresh air compared to Martin. He is way more effective at negating blockers and playing with a chip on his shoulder.

I would say the worst starting line has been the one we rolled out on opening day and the first four games. The o-line the past few games has been better IMO.

How about Cooper Rush hasn't been throwing those brain dead picks Dak was throwing, sucking all the energy out of the team.

And gets rid of the ball much quicker both passing and handing off. OL doesn't have to hold blocks anywhere near as long. Makes them look better when they haven't changed at all.

Rush is probably near the middle to low end of back up QBs. I wouldn't say bottom trash tier though as he can obviously get wins.

No arm strength, even less mobility than Dak, bad accuracy deep. However he does read the defense better and gets the ball out quicker. Just to limited outside that.

I would say minus the first game of his the team seems to play better with him in the game . Like their sick and tired of Dak.

Daks contract is a disaster. Dumbest decision by the front office in a long time. I honestly believe we would of had similar success with a baker mayfield type of quarterback and contract for half the price with the amount of talent we have surrounded Dak with

The team doesn't necessarily play better.

The offense is worse.

And we got blown out by two good teams.

We beat lowly giants that are somehow much worse than Cowboys.

We beat Washington because they missed to PATs...and our special team scored twice so people can't even claim he balanced out the defense.

So, the team doesn't respond to Dak or try as hard when he's out there? That is a huge leadership issue.

You aren't exactly helping the pro Dak side with your reasoning on that.
