For context, its the same argument we had two years ago. Be clear that Rush is not a starting caliber QB, he is a barely serviceable back up if we are being truthful.

What he has shown, and is showing, is that the level of output between him and Dak is similar - not enough against good teams but can beat up on a weak division. Dak is making 60M a year because he gets to rack up numbers against the Giants and Washington each year.. and any other soft targets we get. Hence why we do well against a weak schedule and then make playoffs and then struggle the next year.

I don't like any suggestion that we move forward with Rush.. but it shows just how much of a fraud Dak is. And it should have been enough when he won those games two years ago to show ANY half decent GM that Dak was nothing special. I still can't quite believe that we signed a new contract for Dak.. it is just mind boggling.

He's 7-3 as a starter across multiple seasons. He's one of the better back ups in the league based on his winning percentage.

Agreed. So...what is it that makes people rag on him?

Some how...magically...the D plays better when he is in? SOMEHOW...there's a running game suddenly when he is in? A VERY odd...coincidence.

That horrible O-Line, which was a big reason Dak was playing so badly, is suddenly looking better than it has all year, even though they are missing two All-Pros now.

The coincidences are off the charts.

Love for Dak, there isn't any other reason. Some simply will never accept that there's another QB on the roster who can produce similar results. Rush is seen as a threat so they go on the attack.

Since he’s a free agent in 103 days we’ll all find out what the NFL thinks he’s worth. If he signs with the Cowboys before becoming a free agent it means he knows what he’s worth. He will not be signing for more than $4 million AAV, if he even remains in the NFL.
You may very well be right.

If he made $4 million this year that would be $2 million per win.

Meanwhile Dak made $20 million per win this year. Rush is a bargain right now. And that's assuming the Cowboys lose out. Which is unlikely

What kind of idiot would sign Dak Prescott to a 4 year, $60 million AAV, $231 million guaranteed contract?

Right, and AC flops like a fish out of water. One day, Dak should not get paid that much money. Someone in another thread says something about Dak's money being to much, guess who come to Dak's defense? Those Dak lovers are hurting so bad they don't know if they are coming or going.
Quit lying as usual. I have never defended Dak being overpaid. You simply can't handle any positive reviews about Dak, hence why you have to make up false accusations. Weak-minded and immature poster. ^^^^

Why would anybody crap on Cooper Rush? The man is attempting the near impossible to save this season. He got the starting job at 3-5 meaning he would have to at least win 7 games. He started out slow and we fell to 3-7 but Rush is locked in now and we’re 5-7. If we beat Cincinnati, Cooper Rush might even be in talks for comeback player of the year

I like to put quarterbacks in 3 categories.

  • Category one is quarterbacks, who are capable of putting a team on their back and leading them to a Super Bowl.
  • There are quarterbacks in category, 2 that are capable of getting to the Super Bowl if they have a super supportive group around them,. Awesome defense and more than adequate offense with a solid OL
  • Category 3 are quarterbacks that detract from their team in big games and are not capable of getting that team to a Super Bowl. i.e. every drive requires a couple plays, which involve difficult tight throws. They have to be able to make those high percentage of the time. They have to commit less than one turnover per game. And I'm talking about difficult games, not the easy ones.
  • Cooper rush and the right system might be able to be a category 2 quarterback. He's right on the edge..
  • Dak, on the other hand it's not that's starting to be painfully obvious to everybody. It's by now, I would hope including Jerry. Cat 3
  • This, of course, is based on great coaching, which is a must for any team to get deep into the playoffs.

Not sticking up for Dak, he's been terrible this season. But a little perspective would be good; Rush (and the rest of the team) barely eked out wins against a team that's been going downhill, and a team that's probably going to have the first pick in the draft.
