I'll say it again. If the Dallas Cowboys make Kellen Moore the backup QB it will prove to all of us that there really hasn't been HUGE changes in the philosophy of the organization. It will also signify that competition doesn't mean much and that when JG talks about it, it's more coach talk and BS than anything. Cooper Rush has outplayed KM by a mile. It's not even close. In fact KM has looked so bad that I feel embarrassed for him. Was he this bad before the injury, or did he completely lose it? The bottom line is I would hope that the DC FO has grown enough over the last twenty one years and learned from mistakes like this. I guess we will find out...
erod---no way every team has a rook playing like Cooper Rush..no way he would make it through waiversMost likely, Rush will get waived, then re-signed to the practice squad.
Every team has a Cooper Rush that the fans are slobbering over. Teams aren't going to sign a young QB to their 53 and waste a spot on them.
But we'll see.
vlsionary--- 1000% correctNot true
Kid looks like he has a real chance
If we waive him to keep Moore we're idiots
i totally agree i am just afraid cowboys front office is brain dead in love with Moore???Cooper Rush is now hands down the Dallas Cowboys backup QB, fellas...and Ladies!
exactly--if this does not change linehan's mind then Moore has some real incriminating stuff on him...Moore looks horrible...and this is preseason..vanilla defense...if Rush gets cut something real fishy is going on in front officeIf this doesn't change Linehan's mind about Moore, I have to assume Moore has some very incriminating pictures or videos or Linehan. Moore is a noodle arm scrub.
I want to see Rush and Moore flip roles next game. And have Rush start the final preseason game.
Babe has it backwards---all of Moores experience and time in this system and playing vanilla defenses in preason and he looks like this?????...Rush no experience never been in this system..often has worse players then moore to work with and completely outplays Moore to the bone....Babe is being paid off in my opinionBabe completely dismissed the notion of Rush being the back up. My question is why? Experience? Sure Moore has it but what kind of experience? The guy can't play.
No way! He gets waived, he's gone. There's about 20 teams who would grab him in a heartbeat. Most likely, Rush will get waived, then re-signed to the practice squad.

What the hell good is it to know who to throw the ball to, if you throw it so tight to the sideline, the guy has almost zero chance to keep his feet in? I'm not big on preseason mania, but this kid is one of the greatest all-time passers in college history. He made several excellent throws while rolling out. How many of those can Moore make?!http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...erned-about-kellen-moore-as-no-2-quarterback/
Cowboys growing concerned about Kellen Moore as No. 2 quarterback
Clarence E. Hill Jr. of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports, citing an unnamed source, that Moore “will be the subject of conversation at personnel meetings this week” after another subpar preseason performance.
Moore completed less than 50 percent of his passes (10 for 21) for 131 yards and a quarterback rating of 67.8. He also lost a fumble that was returned for a touchdown.
Officially, the Cowboys continue to say all (or at least most) of the right things about the player who could be the wrong man both to replace Prescott if injured and to push Prescott to be as good as he can be.
“He’s a very smart player, makes good decisions,” coach Jason Garrett said, per Hill. “I thought he threw the ball to the right guy a lot. I think the biggest thing if you look at his drives is we got behind the chains a little bit, had some holding penalties and you’re looking at some tough down-and-distances. And it’s hard to overcome that. But I thoguht he handled that stuff for the most part pretty well and just kept trying to execute ball plays. He will continue to do that.”
If the Cowboys don’t look outside the organization for a backup to Prescott, they could decide to make Cooper Rush the No. 2 option.
“I’m just glad to see Rush taking advantage of his opportunities out there,” owner Jerry Jones said, via Hill. “Wouldn’t want to get ahead of ourselves in any way here. And the other thing is that we still have a lot of confidence in [Moore], his ability to be able to get in there when we would call on him with the personnel around him and get the ball in the right places. Make no mistake about it, that Rush, it just gets slow when he gets out there. That’s a compliment.”
It would be great if we could finally be one of those teams that has a backup that teams want to trade a 1st round pick for.
He also played with 3s and 4s. Put him with 1s and 2s and he may look even better. The fact is that he commands the offense, makes the throws, and gets results. He has an NFL arm and his passes are accurate. He has the ability to grow into a very good QB. Moore is what he is, a poor excuse for an NFL QB. If Dak goes down, Moore will do nothing but lose games. Rush at least has shown an ability to keep the offense moving and will do nothing but improve. Rush is the guy you keep for the future.
How did you come to conclusion Rush only played vs 3s and 4s, but none of the 2s?
As for Moore, he has only played in 3 regular season games, and only 1 game he won, against Washingtons backup defense and for the most part, banged up secondary. If you call that success in this league. Rush I am pretty sure can do that.
Yes we were. When Moore got hurt did we panic and sign a vet?
Garrett was a #3 for much of his career, not a #2. So your argument could work against Moore since few teams carry 3 QBs now.I still feel like they'll give Moore the nod. Garrett sees too much of himself in Moore.
