Cooper should not be in NFL

There are 25 college QBs right now who would be better. He’s absolutely a waste of a roster spot. In the 30 years I’ve watched high level Texas and Louisiana football, there are some HS QBs who could do better right now.
Rush knows the offense better than Dak does.
If you took Rush brain and put into Dak body you would have a higher IQ QB on IR right now.

Lmao god even now you guys are still running with this. What have you seen in the last two blowout losses that makes you think this is true?

With the backup QB in, you are running less of the playbook.

Rush sees the field better than you can while watching the games, even with pause and replay.
Dak fans have zero recognition of observation.

How do you know you can’t trust him if you don’t put him out there
Youre right.

Its not the ideal situation to try and shine in for a player with a skill set like Lance, whom might be on his last chance in the NFL. I assume the Cowboys and Lance have a mutual agreement on the topic.

Their incentives dont align at all.

Did he see the field better on his way to 16 total points in his two starts and barely completing 50% of his throws? lol

Even now the King of Rush Stans still clings to this narrative.

It's not even Rush's fault, he's just simply not as good as the starter, but this team sucks with either of them at qb. However don't go making up things that aren't true to absolve your pet cat of poor play.

His arm was shot half way through the 3rd quarter if not before. His throws were not as crisp, nor as accurate, which is not saying much to begin with.

They should have put in Lance with a fresh arm and could run if needed.

Jerry and MM fear what some Trey haters fear. That he will succeed.
We really had cooper rush throw 60 times in a game in which our linemen tried to scoop and score and our punter almost hit the scoreboard with yet another fake punt

Cooper can't run, can't throw and has the game to maybe be serviceable on half of a football field. He fell short of so many throws last night and threw behind his receivers you would think Dak was out there. Even his throws that should have been intercepted were dropped because the Texans DB's were expecting more zip on the ball and not cupcakes

He was injured much of the time he was in SF. His first year he sat behind Jimmy G.

Move forward and see what he has and allow him to start with the starters. Well the ones are still healthy so starters and back ups.

He came into the Philly game down what 3 scores. What QB will have a chance to succeed in that situation.
Once again you look to the past to try to justify your dislike.
49ers would’ve never traded him if he was good.

The big picture here is the lack of resources the hobbyist GM has devoted to the position. Rush went undrafted, and there's a reason for that. The Cowboys got exactly what they paid for. For years the team has failed to devote draft capital to the QB position.

To be fair lots of capable backup QBs were UDFAs. We just picked the wrong one.

I don't want my team to use draft capital on backup QBs. I'd rather they use draft capital on backup OLs or DLs or WR3s.

Maybe 3 or 4 would throw for 354 yards in an NFL game. Those 3 or 4 would be top first round picks. There are zero HS QBs that are going to throw for 354 in the NFL. We can talk about his arm strength and several other issues, but this is just fan fantasy. Let's be realistic. Cooper Rush is exactly what he is, a NFL backup. There is nothing wrong with that.

I agree they should've put Trey in, but having Cooper or anyone throwing it 55x a game isn't doing him or the team any favors.

they will never ever admit they are wrong. never would they do that. too much ego at play

With that being said....Do you really blame anyone in this offense? It's McCarthy's awful designs...Unbelievably bad play calling. Putting the players in the worst position to fail.....It's the most simplistic offense I can ever recall. It's really not NFL level...The routes don't ever work off each other....the O-line blocking....guys aren't staying low...moving anyone off the ball. It's just bad football.
This is the Major problem I have with the team. The offense is very basic. Its not much of a change from the Jason Garrett days. Our recievers aren't getting open because of play design. But I also think you heard the shot at Dak that most missed. He said its a QB friendly offense. Meaning, its easy to pick up with easy reads. It limits the mistakes that Dak can make. A more modern offense is more complex and requires more from your QB, which Dak clearly doesn't have. The problem with this offense is we are not putting our recievers in positions to succeed. Its the same tired JG line, "just beat the guy in front of you" mantra.

we are a team build on UDFA.....some are good, rest are meh and getting major minutes because our team is so devoid of talent and our drafts have been bad and we don't do FA

this is a very large contingency to be UD on any team.

You are a funny person, like anybody ever thought that Cooper Rush would be the answer.... lmao right now, being serious.

Rush just threw for 300 yards in a real NFL game, and at one point led his team to 5 wins, stop it.
