What other option is there? It's not fair to the kicking team to place the ball where it came down.
That would be a helluva home field advantage, though.

and the ball could bounce backwards all the way to the other endzone

it's just sloppy to play the ball where it lands

I place it in the same league as teams who have fields that turn to complete *** when the weather gets bad or teams that share their field with a baseball team. It's just part of playing at those locations.

They don't alter plays that are affected by those conditions or redo them.

It blows my mind that they can hit that thing. I couldn't kick a ball filled with helium that high. Amazing.
:lmao2: I just thought that was hilarious for some reason.

Exactly! If they're going to make Jerry move the video board up and spend the money to do that, then make the friggin Stealers replace that sorry excuse for a football field.

The argument against that has always been home field advantage and the money it costs to replace the field. So what's the difference here?

Would it make that big of a deal if it were to be raised 25 ft?

I would think that would really cut down on how easily viewed the screen would be in the lower sections. I doubt 25' is really necessary though. Just 10' would probably do it.

Here we go. Tell me this isn't any different than a punt hitting the scoreboard. Same sort of situation with the stadium conditions affecting game play. Even the risk of injury is greater than what that bs article said about running down and covering punts and then having to redo it.

y'know, since the videoboard was built to meet NFL guidelines and is above the minimum height for things over the field, I don't think Jerry should have to foot the bill to raise it. This should come out of the NFL's pocket.

The issue at hand is that jerry didnt just build this "stadium" for football. He built it for multi use purposes . Honestly he should have given it more thought . The league gave him a min amount of feet and he goes right up to it barley exceeding it? I hate that logic really do. (Plenty of situations with annoying neighbors for another time ..lol )

Between the way to may tiers and the distance from the field of seats to the field and that to low video screen im dissapointed . I know it's not done yet . But if pshyching out the other teams punter is what we were shooting for for homefield advantage then we nailed it ..

I just dont think the scoreboard is as important for football as is it for basketball or concerts ..etc.. For those occassions that a football game is being played(again no. 1 priority in buliding this place again right?) that thing needs to be moved end of discussion. Seriously that's what it was built for who f'ing cares about a U2 concert in october? Its suppossed to be a football stadium first

.

There's a comparison between Texas Stadium and the new Stadium. The seats at the new stadium are actually closer horizontally from the field than at Texas Stadium. Higher yes, but also a higher capacity.

You're embarrassed about meeting league specifications? You do realize how many stadiums are grandfathered into field tray dimensions(meaning the walls are too close), don't have adequate league minimum lighting), have seats that are way, way further away from the field and that actually have ceilings almost as low as the video board? Please.
