And they got him out of that game so fast so he wouldn't get hit. lol
If his deep ball wasn't way off the mark, his one drive may have ended in a one play interception. The defender had a better opportunity to catch the ball than TWill did. Not sure what Tony was thinking there. But then he went to dink and dunk and got a touchdown. Those dang dink and dunk QBs suck.

Right because the organization had shown that they had really cared about his health when returning from injuries in the past...
They did this time because they knew he was fragile. How would it look for Tony to get knocked out of a meaningless game his first game back? If he was so healthy they could have kept him in there for a few drives. You don't know he's good until he can take a hit. lol

Why would they care if he got hurt if he was going to retire anyway?

Watched the highlights of the Pats game last night. One receiver was double covered in the end zone, but Brady chunked the ball to him anyway. And guess what? TOUCHDOWN!
As the commentator said "Brady doesn't throw that if he doesn't trust his receiver".

Wny is it if Romo or Dak throws it up and it's intercepted or knocked down it's "why did the idiot throw that ball?"

Tony had played with Williams and he trusted him to catch it, which he did.

That's why...

Perception is everything. He was the backup. Got to keep him healthy even if it's useless. If he could play then they should have let him play. That one drive wasn't going to prove anything.

Interesting. Glad to see a little faith in TWill around here.

Williams can’t go up and contest the ball. He’s not comfortable doing that. He’s a body catcher. Not saying he’s any bad, but like Witten said, WR’s need to use their hands and not their bodies.

Maybe they were worried about the perception that Tony was better than Dak, which is reality. As another poster said, if they leave Romo in and he just continues marching up and down the field what would that do to Dak's ego and what would the fans think?

Everybody knew Romo was better than Dak. That's no surprise. The only thing was Romo's injury problems.

Gordon didn't contest the ball, he moved outside and got open to catch it. And he did a body catch.

NO receiver catches every pass with their outstretched hands, there are occasions where you have to do a body catch. If you watch highlights of his play you will clearly see he can, and does, catch balls with his hands and jump for balls. Don't care if he catches balls with his toes, as long as he catches it.

Look, Williams is no HOF receiver. But he's not as bad as some here think...

Just finished listing to Podcast with KT and he is hearing whispers from Ben Rogers (who has been correct several times & has good sources) that following might transpire in next week or so:

1. Tony Romo & Dez Bryant might be signed. Dallas currently has $18 million in available cap space.
2. Current league rules on QB would heavily favor Romo return.
3. Dez Bryant continues to insist with Mike Fisher that he still sees himself as Dallas Cowboy.

Buckle in. The internet will break if this goes down.

Maybe their floating this because Dak needs the extra motivation of Romo coming back like he had his rookie season (since he has no immediate threat of competition on the roster)...I heard the podcast talking to Tony with Ben and Skin a week ago at this point. I dont know about "whispers", but it all sounded like jokes of what ifs in the original interview that Tony didnt even seem to be taking serious and only answered when pressed.

Agreed. We could definitely use him.
