Could Dak be hurting himself in the gym?

I agree, but you can ruin it in the gym with the wrong approach.

Ruben Sierra buffed up and lost his home run swing. Felix Jones buffed up and lost his speed and quickness. You see athletes do themselves harm as athletes in the gym.

Sierra, and Juan GONZALES were steroid freaks for sure! Will Clark? Not so much! Lol

Troy was not huge or extremely buff but he definitely hit the weights.

ZOMG!!!! HIS HAT IS BACKWARDS!!!!! HE NEEDS TO STOP PARTYING IN CABO AND WORK MORE!!! WHY ISN'T HE THROWING WITH HIS WR'S??? HE NEEDS TO BE MORE DEDICATED!!!!! ZOMG!!!!

Ever seen Romo without a shirt? Exactly and there is a reason why. Dude wore a shirt in the swimming pool.

When I played amateur league football my team signed an ex-college QB who, in theory, should have been a dominating player at our level. When he turned up he was buff like a body builder. So muscle bound he could no longer throw the ball. Didnt last long.

If Aikman and Favre didn’t spend time in the gym neither would’ve lasted very long especially Favre. Both took beatings and keeping their bodies fit and strong kept them going. Romo only lasted 10 years as a starter before injuries caught up with him and part of that was probably due to not staying fit enough. He had no muscle tone and would fatten up some during the offseason. Dak Is just naturally thick in the legs it’s not like he’s overdoing it in the gym. Had he not kept himself fit he wouldn’t have played a full 16 games this season with the hits he took.

Dak needs less time in the gym and Zeke needs more time in it this year.

Can you name a single power pitcher or elite quarterback that was buff?

Bodybuilding creates strength and size, but it often reduces athleticism if it's not done perfectly. Too many are worried more about the mirror than their performance.

I'm pondering the elite throwers of the football, and I can't think of a single one that didn't look like an insurance agent with his shirt off. Brady, Brees, Peyton, Ryan, Big Ben, Rodgers, Marino, Young, Elway, Cunningham, Kelly, Staubach, Tarkenton, Bradshaw.....

Aikman and Farve were about as chiseled as they got. And those two looked more like good ole boys that grew up on a farm than gym rats.

With that in mind, would it be a good idea for Dak Prescott to lean up a bit? His sturdy frame is good for taking hits, but is he too muscled up to whip a football with the velocity he could if he was leaner? Is his upper body negatively affecting his accuracy?

Most of the power pitchers in baseball are bean poles. The smoothest strokes in the NBA come from guys like Curry, Dirk, and Durant. The best scorers in hockey are often the Crosby, Gretzky, and Bure types.

You can't improve skill with weight lifting. In fact, you can reduce it. Perhaps our QB should re-think his training regimen moving forward.

Mitch Richmond was built like a tank and has one of the top 5 prettiest shots of all time.

I get your point though.

The best part is if Dak showed up for camp looking like Rookie Brady, there'd be "Dak iz fat!" threads as well.

Yea he could get stiff but I'm sure the trainers are aware of this.
That’s it . Dak is just stiff. That makes sense . Some of those passes were just stiffly thrown. And why we didn’t have confidence to go downfield more often .Man I’m relieved.

Maybe he needs another girlfriend or more girlfriends. A trip to Cabo??Romo always looked loose out there.

If a QB wants to build arm strength, copy what power pitchers like Carlton and Ryan did. Some of their exercises seemed odd, but you can't argue with resuts.

I think Dak should get into Brady’s “ TB 12 Method”. Brady’s pliable muscles absorb the stresses and impacts .

According to Mr Guerros theory outlined in his book with his close business partner Tom Brady . “ Dense, stiff muscles are easily injured because they are not resilient and can be torn during physical activity”.

yep he should stop working out with the weights. He's not going to be able to throw it further than 10 yards with any accuracy.Scouting reports said he would be okay in a short passing offense. Well time for screens and QB pitches

There’s some good looking men there. I’d like to get their left overs at the beach. Troy and Moose and I guess that’s Novacek were solid . I might have never got married if I looked like that.

How the heck do you find a pic like that?
Well done!! Lol

Maybe we could develop a more college like offensive attack with Dak.

And if we get behind and need a more passing offense bring relief in off the bench.

Fans love Dak , he’s very marketable and Jerry hates to dump him after bootin Romo to the curb for him so we’re all in. I think we need to reinvent the wheel for him.

Russell Wilson is built the same way he's just shorter. Air McNair was built the same way. So was Mcnabb. Mcnabb had huge guns. Dak is thick in the legs and butt. That's what makes him look so big, but it also helps him to get out of arm tackles.
McNair is a pretty good comparison physically. But that’s where the comparisons stop. At least at this point.

Makes me think though we should be utilizing Daks running skills more.

I’m not worried about Dak physically
Where he needs to grow is more mental. Learning more about reading defenses where he will know who’s gonna be open before they get open. Working on technique and learning to better handle pressure
Hopefully we work on the scheme to help him and he works on what he can and he has a tremendous season
