Could Dak be hurting himself in the gym?

Range of motion is what matters. It is possible to lift weights while maintaining flexibility and range if motion. I am sure the trainers take all that into account when designing a workout plan for Dak.

As much as Dak runs, you want some muscle on him. Skinny running quarterbacks - Griffin, Watson, Mariota, Vick, etc - tend to get hurt. The guys built like brick outhouses - Newton, Wilson, McNabb - tend to stay healthy. Wilson especially is 5'11" 215, but he sucks up a huge amount of punishment because he's so strong.

Dak's built a lot more like the latter guys than the former guys, and that's a good thing.

Greg ol bud. Lets try to keep our post to at least after someone else speaks. Thanks. Jethro is the man.

What makes you think he is not working on mechanics? Or he puts a bigger priority lifting weights?

Have you seen the guy play?
Heck, every time he throws the ball it looks like he is in labor or physical pain.

Can you name a single power pitcher or elite quarterback that was buff?
Russell Wilson is proportionate. I'll take all the power in the base I can get.

You may have a point about the muscular chain from chest to hand, though. Minimal sensitivity is generally proportional to power. Too much power and your motor control diminishes.

Troy also put his index finger on the point of the ball. Maybe Dak should try that.

You are confusing QBs. Aikman didn't put his index finger on the point of the ball. That was Terry Bradshaw. Aikman had a unique grip on the ball in that he really didn't use his fingers on the laces. His palm went across the laces and his fingers were on the leather.

This is part of the reason Troy struggled more when the ball was very wet from the rain.

Maybe we could develop a more college like offensive attack with Dak.

And if we get behind and need a more passing offense bring relief in off the bench.

Fans love Dak , he’s very marketable and Jerry hates to dump him after bootin Romo to the curb for him so we’re all in. I think we need to reinvent the wheel for him.

How about they just develop a 2018 offense for him, rather than an outdated 1990’s offense?

They should try that first.

But in all seriousness I don’t think the current system is the best fit for his skill set.

LOL....its the arm baby the rest is for excuses!

So far Dak's arm and talents leave a huge question of fat or short or muscle or whatever at this point. He's got the first 6 games of next season to prove he has QB muscles or else hope fit enough for the BENCH....

No , it’s probably not.

I was being sarcastic but seriously I’m not understanding why we need to revamp our offense and bring in new coaching ? Seems like more practical and possibly easier to bring in a QB better suited for our current system and offense ?

How many years is this revamp going to take . And can we count on this coaching staff to develop Dak??

I thought the upside on Dak was he was a steal for a 4th rounder and far ahead of his development .

What happened to set him so far back this year? And if we were evaluating for this year alone what would our view be?

Sorry but his performance this year left me with more questions than Answers.

This a joke post?

All of these athletes are training and hard. And the newer crop of qbs more so as techniques advance.

Dak doesn't have a whimsy arm because of the gym. He just has a wimpy arm.
