Could Dak be hurting himself in the gym?

There is no zip on his passes, and they look like wounded ducks. He doesn't have a good arm.

I've heard this. I've also heard he was throwing fastballs to Dez last year causing drops and he needed to put touch on the ball. Of course, that was on the DC.com board. I'll have to watch more closely next year.

If Jerry is totally dug in on Dak?

Because he doesn’t want to look the fool for letting Romo go and Daks enormous popularity after his remarkable Rookie season which makes him very marketable regardless the results especially if he keeps the team competitive while still coming up short either to get into the playoffs or in the playoffs .

What do you think Jerry is going to do?

What would it take for Jerry to abort Dak?
And do we even think it’s a possibility Jerry would ?

This board never gets it right when it comes to body types. Remember last offseason that picture that surfaced of Lawrence supposedly being in his shape of his career and he comes out and has a career year lol.

There's a lot of thing to worry about with Dak and his progress but his body fitness ain't of them. Mcnabb was chunky too in his prime ;)

There are #4 jerseys all over the stadium, and flying off the shelves. Dak isn't going anywhere.

Not last year. He was pretty darn accurate. This year he wasn't. I think the OP is trying to find the cause. Go back and watch the first game of the season and then any of the games from last year. He lost his accuracy somehow from year 1 to 2. If I were the Cowboys I'd at least consider his off season work out as a potential cause along with other things.

The first year, Dak was getting out of the pocket, which caused defensive chaos and let receivers get wide open. Dak only likes receivers when they are WIDE open.

Then, defenses adjusted to make him stand in the pocket, which means receivers are much more tightly covered for less time. He doesn't like that.

This offseason, Dak has to learn to be a real NFL quarterback, not a run-around SEC spread offense guy. That crap doesn't work up here.

It doesnt matter if you're short, tall, buff or fat..if you can throw the football everything else is secondary. Look at big Ben. Dude is legit fat for football standards.

Dak needs to continue to work on his craft and if he wants to add muscle even better. Last thing we need is him getting hurt on basic tackles like Romo did later in his career.
:hammer:

Might be something to this. Don't know if it's still the belief but used to be Boxers never lifted weights, it was thought it slowed down arm speed.

Yea, that’s what I was thinking as well . No wonder you want to get rid of our tickets. Ha

The other part, he says, has to do with "muscle pliability." It sounds fancy, but it really boils down to focusing less on strength and more on flexibility.
Muscle pliability, which is incorporated into the TB12 Method invented by Brady's trainer and business partner Alex Guerrero, is a way of preventing injuries by keeping your muscles strong, active, and easily flexible when you're training. This is Brady's "prehab," and it's something many NFL athletes do to avoid injuries before they happen. (In fact, it's pretty common for football players to focus on mobility instead of chucking weights around.)

For Brady, it's worked. As CBS points out, the Patriots QB is in his 18th season of a sport in which the average player lasts just six years. “If I can keep my muscles pliable, I can hopefully limit the intensity, or limit the injury altogether, if I do absorb some of these forces,” Brady told CBS, speaking about how the practice helps him on the field.

So what's Brady's "workout"? Instead of using heavy weights, he uses elastic resistance bands and a whole host of vibrating apparatuses, such as foam rollers and massage balls, and follows each workout with what CBS refers to as "specific massages." That may sound fun, but the rubdowns are actually meant to keep his muscles long and soft.

Has anyone provided any significant fact(s) that Dak lifts too much and is causing issues with his game? Or more just guesses and assumptions?

Name a good buff quarterback. I can't think of a single one. That's the point.

This guy has been injured once in his 18-year career.

Who would've looked at that picture at the time and thought to themselves "This guy will be one of the best QBs to ever play the game!". Crazy how life works sometimes.

If Dak were all flabby you guys would make that a thing, if he looked like Big Ben and had 3 chins

*Dak has bad 2nd half of sophomore year*

CZ: "is Dak too buff for tackle football?"

... gonna be a long offseason:laugh:
