…..any similarities inferred between Mahome-slice and Rayne Dakota are wishful thinking.

One’s a legit baller and the other……not so much

I was not comparing them. Where did you get that from?

of course you were. You were implying that Dakota will struggle behind his o-line just like Mahomes did last year because of his injured line……am I incorrect in that?

Never would have guessed this thread would result the way it has. Huge shock.

No you are not correct.
I was just pointing out that Mahomes struggled behind a beat up OL, as most QB's will do, and all QB's have at some point.

Not any better than what is here. And Burrow had a MUCH worse line.
Chase and Higgins are better than any WR here this year. Last year with the full complement of WRs including Gallup and Wilson it was the deepest in the league.

This year it’s really bad. Your second best WR opening night might be Brandon Smith who was playing in the 4th quarter of the final preseason game.

my original quote was that Burrow was sacked a league high 51 times while our guy was sacked half of that. Let’s see if rayne can produce this season if he gets sacked as many times as Burrow did. These things will be proven one way to the other. Mahomes did struggle however his level of competition and level of play was still superior to our Qb

like I said, Mahomes, Burrow, and Prescott don’t belong in the same sentence. 2 are elite and the other isn’t

agree to disagree……don’t ban me quite yet:D

So, this is certainly not meant to be a Dak-hate thread. I know many of us have taken a "show me" approach with Dak. I was one of his biggest defenders until last season when I had to start acknowledging that many of the negative narratives, while often over-exaggerated, had quite a bit of truth to them.

I don't follow other teams and players around the league like I do Dallas, so my question is how many of the best/ top 5 QBs in the league have overcome a similar lack of WR depth and patchwork O-line Dak is seemingly going to have to work with this year and gone on to make a playoff run? I know Rodgers is constantly brought up (though having Devante Adams certainly helps). Maybe Brady in New England a few years? I'm just trying to wrap my head around what point the offensive roster gets to where it's fair to cut Dak a break, even with his contract. I know myself and many others feel like this is a prove it/make it or break it year for Dak, and I guess I wonder at what point do I reconsider that? Since Dak is paid like a top QB it makes me wonder how many other top QBs have been in a comparable situation and still gone on to excel? I think we could also apply the same question about Kellen. The OC is going to have to get creative in an unpredictable way.

You combat the problem with a good run game. Other than Joe Burrow, I couldn't name you a single QB in this league good under pressure. And it was a problem all year for Cinci, so they probably game planned for it. I've watched Mahomes and Rodgers collapse spectacularly under pressure, and they're considered two of the best.

Brady is a little better at it than them, but losing by 3 points under pressure is no different than 30 points, it's a loss.

It's not a problem whatsoever for elite quarterbacks.

The bengals wrs were better, but cooper, lamb, Gallup, Wilson wasn’t as far off as people make it out to be. Our Wrs were very good a year ago.

Yeah, one in particular thinks there is some drastic difference from Dallas's last year's group and Cincy's.
Cuz he thinks it supports his agenda.

Still mildly entertaining to read though, lol

Brady’s last year in NE begs to differ, which is a primary reason he left. When he lost all his weapons he was 1 and done in the playoffs and wasn’t competitive.
Brady won Super Bowls with below average receivers, and Rodgers also worked miracles with some iffy groups.

Dak has had great receivers, and now he takes up most of the money, so no excuses.

Dak has had great receivers? Where? Where was his Davante Adams or Tyreke Hill? Or hell even his Chase?

He had the best receiving corps in the NFL last year.

Do you watch the games?
How in the hell is that the best receiving group in the league? Fans like you are a problem…anyone with a star is great…meanwhile, two great receiving groups were in the SB. You must be high.

Do you watch the games? You do know Gallup was hurt right?

Cooper, Lamb, Wilson, and Schultz.

Pretty much EVERYBODY in every corner considered that the best, or a top 3, corps in the NFL.

If you don't see that, you really are clueless.
