Chris Leak doesn't have a very good arm and he's around 6' tall. Don't expect him to go on the first day.

Henne's arm isn't a rocket either. He makes a living throwing screens, crossing routes to the TE, and deep balls to WRs who are top 10 material. I'm not sure if he grades out beyond a second rounder.

The potential players on offense in this draft (if some juniors come out) are impressive. A bunch of good wideouts, some good QBs, good OLs, great RBs.

Thats really a nonsense of statement. Henne if anything has rocket arm. The problem I see with Henne, is that, last year he was pretty bad with his accuracy and I still think he is not great in accuracy department. So you can knock him on accuracy, but strong arm is not his weakness at all.

Michigan traditionally always has been a good screen and TE throwing team. Their offense is pretty close to Pro-style or BP style offense, in the sense Loyd Carr believes in Ground game and strong defense and QB that manages the game.

I think Henne has a very strong arm too, but , I don't think he is very good. He is successful because the Michigan run sets up everything they do. He can hit the long ball pretty well. but if you are asking him to move the ball down the field with his arm, it is not going to happen.

I would stay away from him only because of his high expectations.

Id rather take someone slightly under the radar. JMHO

The problem with this option is.

  • Terry Bradshaw
  • John Elway
  • Troy Aikman
  • Peyton Manning
  • Carson Palmer

And these are not just 1st round QBs, they are 1st overall picks in the draft. There are several more if you include 1st round draft choices and not just first overall picks.

Only if Romo gets 8 games in this year at the very least and sucks. But yea if that happen I'd be all for a guy like Quinn.

Or if we dont' get to see Romo and also draft a guy like Quinn, our QB roster will look something like this next year;

Phil Simms
Tony Romo
Brady Quinn

I mean seriously can't you see it?? The Phil Simms signing I'm talking about. In all likelyhood too a better chance of happening then us drafting Quinn.

I said in an earlier thread;

Henne is the best pro prospect out of all draft eligible QBs, though he probably won't come out.

Tyler Palko is going to skyrocket up boards ala Jay Cutler.

Luke Getsy is a darkhorse.

I actually think our best option is to trade our number one in this upcoming draft to the likes of the Texans, Cardinals, etc. poor teams for a number one the year after next and maybe a 3rd or fourth this year. This would give us all of next year to see if Tony Romo is the QB of the future and if he is not then we got two number one picks that we can easily trade up and get who ever we want (or trade away if we want a QB coming out a year later) and not through away a whole draft.

I am tired of QB quick fixes and 2cnd stringers. Lets bite the bullet and go for a rookie QB that looks good, and we can build a franchise around that will be a contender for 6-10 years.

Anything is possible with Bledsoe at the controls. We could be in the top 10 for the draft.

He has not played as well this year= though certainly some of that is due to an underperforming O line (sound familiar=but he is a lot more mobile then DB is). He might not be the first player drafted, though probably still the first QB taken. Either the Raiders or the packers or the Texans will probably have the first 3 picks in some order= none of them will take a QB. The Bills, Titans who could be there along with maybe Miami are all teams not likely to take a QB. So Quinn might last untill 6 or 7. We will probably be drafting in the 20's. Just how hard would it be to trade up? I would be willing to the 2007 and 2008 first rd picks to do it.

Don't you love how people throw stuff out there without even knowing the facts.

Above are Quinns numbers so far this season. I invite anyone to find one team in the nation that played a tougher opening four game than Notre Dame did this year. Georgia Tech (top15), Penn State(Top 15 at game time), Michigan (top5), and Michigan State (around 25 at game time).

You won't find a college program in the nation who played a schedule like that in their opening four games. As you notice, no "directional schools" on that list.

The above stats are his current stats. They will only get better because notre Dame has entered the easier part of their schedule (UCLA (not that easy), Navy, Army, Airforce,Boston College,and USC). His stats will only get better and he will go into USC with a chance to take the Heisman going away.

Do your homework before you comment on something you know nothing about.

Penn State is a very mediocre football team, and Michigan State are just godawful. Those games arent that impressive.

Quinn will of course rack up the stats during the 'extra easy' part of Notre Dames schedule.

Grossman's doin' allright (although I see your point).

Maybe Chicago will part ways with Kyle Orton(sp?) for a conditional pick and he and Romo can do battle for one and two in training camp in the mean time Wade Wilson and Vinny Testeverde will start every other game just for experience sake while the youngsters watch on the bench;)

Love how people who do not watch games claims that stats say it all. Quinn did not play at all well against Michigan; and was not all that good against GT. He has not played as well this year so far as against last year- when he had almost the same schedule. Now this years schedule is tougher- but to me the main difference is two things: the O line has not been as good and Quinn is missing Stoval. And I am speaking as a ND fan who has watched all the games both last year and so far this year.
