Could Witten be on the trading block?

No, Witten is not. I never heard Jason was on the block last year, as part of any deal either, but he's certainly not on the block this year.

I don't remember that either. In fact, have never even thought about them trading him? Now, if he is going somewhere, and that somewhere is with Romo and Jessica I would love to tag along.

Thats a good effort on the graph and all, but this still doesn't prove that the trade wouldn't benefit the Cowboys. How many yards would Fasano have if he was the starter? Certainly not Witten numbers, but what about Roy Williams or Chad Johnson? What effect would having either of them on one side and TO on the other side have? What effect would it have on Romo's stats? On the running game? On first down conversions? Overall points? Time of possession? Was Witten the reason why we lost in the playoffs or was it because we didn't have another receiver that stepped up when TO was taken out the game? There are a lot more aspects to consider and it isn't as black and white as the graph implicates.

One factor in the playoff loss was the TE that you want to replace Whitten with whiffed on a perfectly thrown TD pass in the end zone if I remember correctly.

It wasn't meant to be.

Probably not as many as Witten.

IMO, Witten's value outweighs Roy Williams or Chad Johnson in a trade swap, but that is just my opinion.

IMO, it would be equal or less than Witten playing with Owens, but again, that's just my opinion.

Nope.

Nope. I contribute the primary cause, but not the only reason, solely on the head of Jacques Reeves' play in the closing seconds of the first half, but again that's just my opinion.

The graph is in color, but that's not just my opinion.

Fixed it for ya.

There's PacMan, Roy Williams, Ocho Cinco, Romo's offseason, and the RB-du-jour, as well as how many CBs or WRs we should draft.

Why not? What else is there to talk about?
There's plenty to talk about, but with over twice as many posts from you as any other poster, you seem hell-bent on proving it's a good idea.

Plenty of people disagree, and have indicated why. What's not to get?

Mark my words, Witten will one day be in the Hall of Fame. You don't trade away a player on a HOF career track for one you hope "might" be.

You are absolutely right. I get no attention and must fabricate some opinion on an internet thread in order to gain attention from people that I don't know and don't ever plan on knowing. You sir, are a genius. You must have a degree in Psychology or something. Thanks for curing my mental problems for me. How much do I owe you?

Jerry said last year he thinks Witten is one of the top 5 players hes had since he took over the Cowboys organization.

Plus he is only 25 years old and arguably the best "all around" Tight End in the game.

He aint going no where for a long time.

what he said....

We resigned Witten early because we knew he'd only get better.

Garrett relie son the TE and Witten goes no where.

Fasano may be trade bait to Miami though.

How am I wrong man? I created what should have been a sensible discussion. I will admit that some of my points in the original post were wrong, but all I got in return is a thread full of people saying I am dumb and insulting me for suggesting a trade involving Witten. I guess I expected more from Cowboy fans. Guess it just wasn't meant to be. But to be honest with you, I could really care less how I am viewed by people don't even know me but stuff like that makes you not even want to post.

OK, I know this must be hard but...

Detroit asking for particular players in a package deal is not the same thing as those players being on the trading block...

Detroit, per sources, brought mentioned the names Ware and Witten and that was the end of the story... If it was San Diego, it would be akin to Detroit asking for LT or Gates, and San Diego hanging up the phone....

I bet you don't remember the diving catch that basically won us a game, do you? By all means, continue to evaluate a player using one play.

I don't want to replace Witten, but thats no reason to abuse Fasano...he's a good football player.

BTW, its WITTEN not WHITTEN.

Witten posts WR-like numbers, plus he is essential to the running and blocking game... He is also a huge 3rd down threat, and he never gets injured... Plus, we are in a Garrett offense, and the TE is an integral part of this offense, more so than a second receiver.

jdub2k4 "What is so "E.A." about trading a pro bowl player for another pro bowl player? Someone please fill me in since I have no clue....it makes more sense than trading a bunch of scrub players and late round picks for a pro bowl player"....

Maybe because it never happens in real football and is easily done in E.A.
Name me the last time a pro bowl player was traded for a pro bowl player.
Swapping pro bowlers does not make much sense in that there will be a bigger void where that player leaves then you have a weakness somewhere else.Using your philosophy, I guess you replace a pro bowler with a scrub or a late round pick.Let's see do I want two pro bowlers or one and a scrub. It's not that hard, really.Consider yourself filled.

Yeah but when you look at it it makes sense. Lil' Danny obviously got his degree in football management from E.A. Sports. Good find, I had forgotten that one.I stand corrected.Sort of.
