Darren Woodson was LB turned safety, looking for a switch with Church. If you look at what he brings to the table he's a WLB. You can't count on him in coverage. I'd take him being run over by a lineman over watching him get beat in coverage.

Darren Woodson was an elite athlete, all-time great, and genetic freak of nature. That was the point I am making. If you look at what Church brings to the table by understanding the WLB and SS positions, he absolutely is not a WLB and will never be.

Remember the Roy Williams weight gain experiment with Parcells? Went over great, right? Roy Williams was head and shoulders better than Church.

Woodson is on an Island of his own and the transition he made to safety is different than Church moving to WLB. Church isn't suited for the safety spot with his lack of coverage. As far as comparing him to Williams, Church takes better angles on tackles. Doesn't hit like the old Roy, but he is more consistent on taking better angles. Just because the Williams project didn't pan out, doesn't mean you shut the door on trying it again.

Michael Smith also plays behind LDE Red Bryant (320 pounds), DT Tony McDaniel (307 pounds) and DT Brandon Mebane (311 pounds).

With a starting defensive line that big, you can play an undersized LB and succeed. You seem to be suggesting that we roll with an even smaller LB, but we do not have the lineman to hold up against the run.

I feel very argumentative this gorgeous evening in beautiful, dangerous El Paso- which is always a dangerous prospect with the whizzing bullets from Juarez giving many a person an unexpected haircut...
But I have no argument with anything you've said.

You're always one of my favorite reads here, my man from the Junior College and member of the Farmer's Whatever.
Keep on keeping on. Whether it be from the cubicle in a Satanic press room, or the basement of an unsuspecting family, or the friendly confines of a laptop resting on your lap sitting on the Throne.
Love ya, Blue.

Ok, mister, first, you can't put ketchup on praise.
Second, I appreciate the praise.
Third. you stay safe in El Pato. You happen to be among my favorites, so don't go making youself a target for the velvet painting cartel (Oh, they is ruthless; making my peeps buy velvet paintings of Elvis and Capt. Kangaroo and our president and his lovely lady.)
But, as to the unsuspecting family . . . how do you know this? Huh?

Ketchup makes most things better- especially presidential debates and two piece bathing suits.
They already forced a painting of the dogs playing poker on me- the unconscionable curs!
The family already suspects- they thought I was a PI and axed me to looks into the hubub goin' ons undah da flo'boards.
I graciously declined, but watch out! The Bush's are on to you!

I like Barry Church as a player and think he's a good SS in our system. I would like to see him continue to imrpove on the field but I don't think like some posters on here that he needs to be replaced. Church was one of the few and I mean few bright spots on our defense.

Barry Church is marginal starter, but would be a luxury type of backup player. That is the kind of depth that you would love to have at the position.

You went to Farmers Branch schools, huh? If so, return to us so we can get more street lighting and sewers built. We don't need the sewers but the feds say we do. Our septic tanks work perfeckly good except when they dont. more govt. intrusion.
One intrusion i would welcome is if the attorney general stepped in and stripped Jerra's job as GM. Then I wold be happy.
