How does anything anyone says on this forum help or hurt the cowboys?

I find it a bit ironic that you classify everyone who dares call it like they see it as egotists but then think that your positive thoughts somehow help the Cowboys.

A case could be made that the only reason you are upset with the "realists" is because they dare to call into question your beliefs thus aggravating your sensitive ego.

The ego is a funny thing and often has a mind of it's own. ;)

One of my first impressions of this forum was shock at how easily feathers were ruffled and how intolerant many were of any critcism whatsoever.

Nothing is perfect and that included this years version of the Dallas Cowboys.
Maybe if we all close our eyes and wish really hard the Cowboys will turn it around. But only if we think positive thoughts. Or else it won't work.

If you ask some fans to close their eyes, they're going to automatically start praying that instant for Jerry Jones to step off the curb into heavy traffic. That might not be such a good idea... for Jones, I mean...

:laugh1: I'd settle for him just turning the team over to Stephen.

It would give him another chance to update his face.

Be careful what you wish for. I'm beginning to think he's just a younger Jerry.

Based on what?

The way he acted at the draft mostly. He seems to think he can outsmart people who actually know things about football...just like Jerry. Also, if him being becoming something of a more noted NFL bigwig hasn't gone to his head yet, it probably will.

the Dallas fans and media find a member of the organization to blame each year and never let up.

In 02 it was jerry. In 03 at the end of the year it was Quincy, hambrick and mario edwards. In 04 it was Vinny testaverde, in 05 it was rob pettiti and Bill parcells. IN 06 it was drew bledsoe and Bill parcells, In 07 it was roy williams and jacques reeves, in 08 it was T.O. (and deservedly So) and now its wade, garrett and romo.

People who cant think for themselves let others think for them and then they just tag along. Once the mob is loud enough they get attention.
Never really thought of it quite that way, Theebs, but you're absolutely right!

I used to hate going to bars and hanging out with Cowboy fans. Mostly because these so called "fans" were no where to be found when the Cowboys were a bad team. They were just band wagoners mostly, expecting perfection. It seemed to get to the point were winning wasn't enough. They had to dominate.

Now with TO gone, it seems like it's time to go after Romo. He's suddenly become the wipping boy after any loss. He's not a leader, can't win the big one. Does anybody remember all the QB's between Aikman and Romo?

I live up by Buffalo NY. They haven't had a 300 yd passer in 42 games. Romo's had more 300 yd games in that span than any other Cowboy ever.

He came in to Buffalo last year and played horribly. Yet he held it together and won the game. Dallas has lost this year to two undefeated teams and could have beaten either one had a ball bounced their way one more time.

Get a grip. The seasons early and the defense is starting to come together. Romo is going to have bad games sometimes. He sure as heck has had a lot of good ones. Show some support.

Yards don't mean jack. It's all about wins but I ahven't given up hope this season yet. Romo can play nicely when his head is on straight.

So you think when Jerry makes it okay for players to circumvent coaches and come to him with problems it is okay?

no one on here fits that description. Those here are not on a band wagon which means only backing a winner. They love this team but are frustrated and speaking their minds.

Nothing wrong with that.

Agree...

If it's about contracts then yeah it's okay. But if it's about your role on the team and other onfield complaints, he should have nothing to do with them. Unfortunately that's not the case.

Let me ask was it ok for GM Jerry Reese to say

"Right now, he is still a Giant, and if things work out and he's on board with what we want coming back, we'd love to have him back," Giants general manager Jerry Reese said Tuesday.

GM make comments and deal with players every GM out there does.

Other GM have open door policy. I agree if players go over coaches in matter of I want more playing time or I think we should be running these plays instead those then I'm with you. Yet I have not seen that being the case.

Did you miss the 2004 season?

And how do you figure that playing Denver in Denver is "cake"?

Well the team seemed to be in complete disarray after the whole Cutler thing. I have never thought highly of Orton, who used to be a turnover machine. Moreno is a rookie. Their secondary was put together just this season. I just figured that they would struggle...but they surprised the heck out of me.

All teams have bandwagon fans and the Giants certainly are no exception. We have our fair share of duds. Unfortunately, it's the duds that make up the vocal majority a team's fans.

That being said, the Cowboys have it worse then most mainly because of Jerry Jones and his business genius. The Cowboys are the only big market team in the midwest. While the other big teams duke it out along the east/west coast, Jerry Jones swallows up the rest of America with the all mighty dollar - giving you guys exposure even with limited success.

Even online, it's obvious who became a fan during the Jerry Jones era and who didn't. It's unfortunate that JJ has duped a huge # of you i thinking that the Cowboys as an organisation are light years ahead of any other. Pure genius I say.
