Even if the play call is a run, it had the option to throw a fade if Dak sees a formation he likes.

You know you can call a running play and tell your QB don't get cute, just run the damn play.

If this was a run pass option then the coaching staff is even more idiotic than I thought. You don't leave that option up to the QB there. You DEMAND they run the ball and burn the clock in the process. RIDICULOUS.

I will respectfully disagree with this thought process. I'd rather have a 3rd and goal from the 11 with Dak at QB than try to stop any QB, much less Rodgers, with this D.

I'm not proposing Dak is at fault for not sliding there. I'm just stating you have these two options:

1. Down 4, 3rd and goal from the 11, 20 seconds left.
2. Up 3, 1:13 left, Rodgers ball on the 25 with one timeout.

If anyone picks number 2, you are disqualified from being taken seriously in any future football discussions.

Lot of twitter on this play and that drive - heck that drive was a thing of beauty! Look how much time we ate off the clock, the execution to move the ball all the way down the field and score a TD. We were ahead with a minute left. That's on the defense, period.

Stop it! can't justify the decision to throw it on 2nd and 1 when you are owning the line of scrimmage with the running game. If you run it in back to back plays you have 30 seconds, 3 downs and 2 timeouts to score a TD from inside the 10.

Why? Rich powerful people care about staying rich and powerful. Somehow the value of the Cowboys has zero to do with the on field results, at least in terms of W/L.

As long as that $4B becomes $4.2B, all is well in their world. And I suspect you and I would have exactly the same perspective were we in their place.
