This guy obviously knows football, but I just don’t get the obsession with this guy. Sure, he won a Super Bowl in Tampa Bay with someone else’s roster, but I just don’t get it. People hold him up as one of the greatest of all time.

Having said that...I really like he guy and his insight on MNF.

He was a very good offensive coach. As OC of the Eagles he had them top 5 in offense with Ty Detmer and Rodney Peete at QB. He resurrected Rich Gannon's career in Oakland. He won a SB in TB with Brad Johnson (yes he also had a great defense that Dungy built). But the fact is his offensive production traveled with him even with sub-par QB talent to work with. That is what I remember about his coaching days more than anything.

Again, I don’t dislike the guy at all. Just think his coaching gets a little overrated at times. Every college job that opens they all point to Gruden. He hasn’t recruited in nearly 30 years. I just get a laugh at how Gruden can solve all teams problems whether they be NFL or college.
