Romo sat for 3 years before his first start
Dak started day 1
Even then his stats are better

That’s because it’s two years and Romo’s second year blows Dak’s second year out the water and it shows how reliant the team was on Romo. Look at the effectiveness of the RG with Dak and the whopping over 5 YPC compared to less than four for Romo.. plus the great OL last year..

All of Dak’s great stats come from his first year when they were totally healthy and Zeke was a nightmare to oppposing defenses and getting Dak over 5 YPC in first down, meaning giving Dak only five yards to work with to keep moving the chains..

Romo had three hall of famers on his team, in their prime. TO, Witten, Ware...not to mention several all pros and pro bowlers—Ratliff, Newman, Flozell, Barber, even Roy before he got fat. this whole ‘Dak has a better team’ narrative is nonsense. There was plenty of talent on Romo’s teams.

Did you see the rushing averages?

Ratliff only started with Wade in 2007 at NT... Roy was already sucking up the joint when Romo came. Newman was a disappointment as well. Barber wasn’t great.

The Pro-Bowl is determined large and part by fans.

Romo never had an OL close to Dak. His own Center couldn’t call out the plays he was not smart enough. Flozell was basically the only saving grace in that OL, but as a pass blocker and he use to commit a lot of penalties.

And 4 out of the 5 OL just started playing with each other in Romo’s first year starting while David was added the next year. Dak has at minimum an already groomed line by Callahan and averaging at least three years playing with each other.

Once again everyone....
Dak inherited a much better team, a much qb friendlier team and was asked to do much less.

Can only imagine how Dak would have performed taking over a team mid-season in the stretch of horrible play.

Also let's remember that people were giddy to let Dak start from day 1 and then over a pro bowl qb who was healthy. So these excuses ring hollow.
So you wouldn't have had revisionism if they changed qbs during an 11 game winning stream and it stopped momentum? Or Romo got hurt bad enough that he couldn't walk anymore?
