If the Cowboys are saying they're leaving a soft-tissue injury up to a player, it's a pretty good indication that they're just playing games with the injury reports and he's not playing.

Yeah, players should not make these decisions. They always want to play, especially guys like Lee. If it was just pain tolerance, I wouldn't be worried, but soft tissue injuries scare me.

They make the decision only if cleared by the doctors / Trainers. If they say he is a go if he feels ike it, then there should not be that big of a concern. If they tell him no, then he is not going to say yes.

Remember it was Lee who forgo 2 million dollars (contract incentive for playing time) a couple years ago because of a hamstring. He said earlier this week it's basically a black and white proposition - the hamstring can loosen and go, or it can't. He'll test it before the game. If we hear of him doing rope drills before then that's also a good sign, as he has used those at the tail end of the injury in the past.

I read it differently, particularly given that the player is Sean Lee. Think Jerry is confident that Lee will do everything in his power to be out there. His public statements actually put unfortunate pressure on Lee to play, since the world now knows that it won't be the team doctor holding him back. Can't imagine that Lee wants anyone questioning his desire and commitment. Regrettably, it's the sort of thing a lot of Cowboys fans and local media are likely to do if he sits, even to a warrior like Lee.

Thing is, it's a soft tissue injury. If we're talking about something where the issue is pain tolerance and not risk of re-injury, that's when they leave it up to the players, and the players usually choose to play. But something structural and something as squirrely as a hamstring? I don't know. That's not something you leave up to a player. So, if they're saying they're leaving it up to him, I'm going to guess it's bs and that they're going to save him for the following week.

I wouldn't mind seeing Cooper at LG at this point. Green is a JAG. I don't care what round he was taken in, what potential he has shown, what the coaches think. I haven't seen it consistently on the field and am not sure he'll ever blossom.
