The article that claims disprove the notion actually supports it.

Zeke hit a top speed of 21.6 mph last year; he hasn't topped 18 mph so far this season.

Nobody is arguing against the fact the o-line has struggled early this season, but Zeke did have the opportunity to really hit another gear on that 30-yard run but didn't. He's looked a tad slow getting to edge this season too.

My guess is he'll likely round into shape as the season moves along but it's clearly apparent that he's carrying some extra weight that has impacted him.

As I said in another thread, there were two other runs in that Arizona game where it was particularly noticeable to me that he didn't have the explosion to get through a hole without being swallowed up. Two holes that he'd have gotten 5-6 yards and instead got 1 because he just didn't get through the hole.

Further i'm sure Zeke was thinking as that hole opened "hey that guy runs a 4.24, I shouldn't try a footrace"

And yes it is obvious in how he looks and how he is playing that he isn't in the same shape he was last year. There is time to round into form but in a 16 game season you'd wish your number 4 overall pick would come ready to play from week 1.

I said the same thing earlier in the week. You don't use training camp to shed those extra pounds. Hopefully he learns and comes to camp in shape next year.

This Fat Zeke stuff reminds me so much of the Fat Tony stuff we'd go through every offseason. Three weeks, against three very good defenses is the reason why his numbers are suppressed right now. He's still got the gears and the power, and we'll see it on display soon enough. At which point we can start taking about how he needed a wake up call, or how he was able to run better after losing all that weight.

He's working himself into shape. But he hasn't looked his old self.

When he struggled last year against the giants week 1...nobody said he looked like he lost his burst. Actually he was running full speed into the line and not letting holes develop. Now he looks sluggish. I mean in the now infamous 30 yard run against the cards he didn't even try and bust it. You think 2016 Zeke "runs to darkness?"

So the NFL gave Beckham a slap on the wrist for one of the most classless things every done on a football field. If a Cowboy had done that, he would have been suspended.
They should have fined him at least $12,160! What's wrong with them?
