Cowboys’ Jourdan Lewis faced previous domestic violence accusation

I've had girls hit, scratch, and choke (try to) me.

Never once did I consider calling the police.

The police are conditioned to think it is the woman being abused.

I dated this crazy little girl (she weighed about 100 lbs.) and she was so jealous that it caused constant problems. She frequently would hit and slap on me but I was twice her size and it didn't hurt.

We were arguing in my car while we were driving with the windows down. She started kicking the inside of my windshield almost hard enough to kick it out... and she was screaming at the top of her lungs.

Well, we drove by a parked police car, who heard the screams and promptly pulled us over. They had me stand at the front of the car and took her back to their squad car. They asked her if I hit on her (I never, ever did) and she looked sideways at me and said no... but she said it like she was afraid to tell the truth. They thought for sure that I abused her.

The cops looked at me like I was Charles Manson or something and kept us standing there for a long, long time looking for bruises or scratches on her. She could have made it clear to them that I didn't ever hit her and that she was just throwing a fit because I was at a place where a girl she hated also happened to be. But nope. She played it out like an oscar winning actress.

Finally, I was like: "You gotta be ******* kidding me!"

They eventually just let us go but it made a lasting impression on me.

She sounds like a keeper.

Right. If there aren't repercussions for doing something like this... what is going to keep girls from trying it?

Answer: Nothing.

Yep. I think false accusations should be treated as severely as if it actually happened.

People really know how to screw things up. You have people either making up stories or calling the police every time voices get raised (see @xwalker 's comment above about how 100 to 1 DV calls end up being minor arguments). It's frustrating because it spoils it for the people who truly deal with DV on a regular basis. You have women (and some men) living their own personal daily Holocaust; meanwhile, you have women (and some men) trivializing something as serious as DV... Then again, I don't have much sympathy for someone who would stay in a relationship like that beyond the first sign of something toxic. Unfortunately, most professional athletes are morons. They'd be leeches on society if they didn't run a fast 40.

If he's guilty, he needs to admit it and own up to it. Pay his dues, get help and start his NFL career on the right foot. Even if it means sitting out some games.

Exactly. Well said.

Stop it, that pillow throw could have killed her.

Where there's smoke, there's fire, and if a woman called police on you before about domestic abuse and you didn't do anything, why would you stay with the woman........
are you being serious? you think people would walk away from a relationship after an error in judgement? love is a dangerous game and sometimes it leaves people stupid on both sides of the park apparently. I think him staying with her after the first incident only proves he (or she of course) was stupid in thinking they could work it out.

Yep, I know of a guy that called the police on a woman for hitting and kicking him. He didn't want to hit back, so eventually he called the police.

He ended up in jail after he called.

Remember Greg Hardy is the one that called police in his case.

Men, you need to remember that you can call the police when a woman assaults you and SHE will be arrested, especially if there is evidence of assualt. A lot of men are too macho to call the law.
Ha Yeah ,right !I did that once back in the 90's with my first wife, her and her son figured they were gonna ' take me down' (now ,you wouldn't know it cuz I haven't told you but this hosebeast took a baseball bat to her son's father while he was passed out on the bed one time and fixed his wagon pretty good to hear her tell it) so I've been drinking and forced to conduct a two front war punching boy with my right and momma with the left just to make to the phone in the hall,ya! That #911 call I made put me the caller in the klink the d.v. arrest is on my record / ain't never going away and the charges were dropped,, I'm red flagged with the N.I.C.S. background check to buy firearms cuz of that! Gotta wait 3 days to bring a new gun home , or slap the c.c.l. on the gun shop counter that's immediate approval

if there was no conviction then that should NOT be on your record. You need to get it taken off. It is not easy or cheap but it can be done.

Abebeta has just judged you.

I hope your are ready for that, woman beater.

I wouldn't. Has nothing to do with being macho. Has everything to do with not trusting the cops to investigate anything properly other than a donut.
