Ahh, because the guy whose last descent season was in 2019 and has had two ACL tears since, is somehow the answer. The only thing savvy about this cancer is his ability to con teams into continuing to pay him!
He was 9 of 11 with 113 yards in the 2021 season division championship...

52 yards in the Super Bowl despite only playing 1/3rd of the snaps due to the injury.

That was like 1 year ago...

Honestly, I think some are focused on his picture on the boat with a few Giants teammates and he threw a few temper tantrums on Giant's siMike delines but you're right the cancer thing is way overblown.
They need some attitude in the mix at WR.

The Mike Irvin "thrives in big games".

Mike Irvin in this past 49ers game would have said to Dak in the huddle exactly when and where to throw the ball. Then he would catch the ball.

If the Cowboys don’t modernize their passing scheme, you could bring in 1985 Jerry Rice and and 1992 Michael Irvin and it wouldn’t matter. These simple curl routes they so often run coupled with very few crossing routes put almost zero pressure on the defense. Rarely do we see formations or routes that force the defense into unfavorable matchups.

I‘m more interested in how this passing scheme gets modernized than I am in who‘s lining up at WR next year. We need some more talent at that position for sure.
This offense needs some fresh sure handed RBs that can make plays in space after the catch and WRs built like Deebo tweener types.
West Coast or a version of, a more dialed back offense that Dak can understand and utilize.
MM and Schottenheimer are dialing this scheme back, but we need the RBs and Wrs like SF has, and we have only 1 currently with Pollard.

I can't find evidence of that. Teammates seemed to like him and multiple coaches also.

I think people mix up Antonio Brown with OBJ.
I don’t know for sure if Beckham is a locker room problem or not. But there are several mentions of that from both the browns and giants. In other words, there is some evidence Beckham can be a divider. In Cle I actually think Baker Mayfield was the real locker room cancer. But there is some smoke around Beckham too.

As a giant, Beckham did some crazy stuff. On and off the field. He seemed to mix pretty well with the rams In his short stay there.

He is more like Dez, very passionate, emotional player, not a cancer

There are multiple legit 4.3 speed, great route runners in the upcoming draft. But they’re all 5’11 and under - and it seems like the Front Office only likes guys above a certain height. Hopefully they figure out that crisp route running is essential in the modern day NFL.
They do have a certain prototype and never target small sized receivers. The need is more outside types, where Lamb can continue to play more in the slot. Look at 6/1 and higher receivers with length.

I think building the offense should follow the 49ers script: elite ground attack with yac players all over the field.

Seen his entire Giant career here in NY, he is very passionate, but his emotions get the best of him at times. Not a locker room cancer, but rather a player who is very competitive and wants to win.

CeeDee
OBJ
Gallup
Jalen Tolbert
Draft Pick

I think Tolbert still has a chance to become as good a pre-injury Gallup.

Gallup should be better in 2023; although, I don't know how much better.

A savvy veteran like OBJ (if healthy) is exactly what they needed in 2022.

ModEdit: Thread title changed from "Cowboys 2024 WRs" to "Cowboys 2023 WRs" at poster's request.

We need speed. "I think " If Dak is inaccurate and hesitant, it won't matter.

Right! He had a good game! He had 537 between 2 teams for the season. Around 300 and change the season prior. He was babbling about a 20m average contract in December. I can’t see paying him anything close to that. I wouldn’t give him anything that couldn’t be easily walked away from mid season if/when he starts his diva BS. One game in 3 years shouldn’t negate that he’s need to earn his contract on something other than we’ve heard his name!

Why does everyone just assume that OBJ signs with the Cowboys. I personally think he will go to the highest bidder and I absolutely cannot picture the Cowboys being that team.
I agree. The Joneses might be interested in getting OBJ at a discount after he missed a year of football, but I think their idea of what he's worth and his idea of what he's worth are going to be millions apart.

I do look for us to add a veteran, but it's going to be more in the James Washington mode -- some receiver who has flashed ability but hasn't proven himself enough to demand a huge contract. Someone like Kansas City's Mecole Hardman could be a cheaper target.
